Corolla Grande 2021 Oxygen Sensor Problem

Hi, my car is only 4 months old and 1,600km done. Unfortunately, the Oxygen Sensor cable has been chewed by some animal which is resulting in check engine light. Toyota Central Motors has offered only one solution i.e. to replace the sensor but its costing a lot (Rs 35,000 for sensor and Rs 17,500 for diagnostics). Is there a better and cheaper solution available? Perhaps where I can replace the cable only and still be able to keep the warranty of my car intact?

If u are sure the oxygen sensor wire was chewed by a animal and that is the only issue.

Goto a local parts market and look for a similar part # also if u know some mechanic get a second opinion.

wire damage is secondary issue here
if the mouse is around in engine bay u might hv bigger problems
secondly go to good electrician/workshop for 2nd opinion

If the wires are chewed through, they can be repaired properly according to toyota specification which is to use an F crimp type joint and cover it with heatshrink tubing. And no soldering.

In my line of work we do this everyday dozens of times on broken/chafed/chewed wires.

However we also change out entire harnesses if they fall under warranty claim, that is sometimes an interesting job as we have to sometimes rip out entire interiors to bare metal.
