Hello ,
I am facing the same issue
I have reasearched a little and discovered that these meters are made for ABS equipped cars.
The speed data is picked by ABS sensors by the ECU and fed to this meter , where as in our xli which is a non ABS car, speed data is received via a sensor in the gear box.
I believe if we we re wire the speed signal wire in the final connector plugging into the speedometer then the speedometer might show speed as well.
I discussed with many electricians in Karachi as well as Jawed denso in Lahore who referred to another electrician on Waris road, he advised that the only way the meter will work is to install AbS in the car which requires changing the wheel hubs , abs module, Ecu and then wiring , cost approx 15000 - 20000/- not willing to fiddle with brakes on that level.
I am hoping some more senior pak wheelers can help out and understand the technicality of speed signal wire we need to alter to take data from the current gear mounted speed sensor.
The meter works perfectly no beeping on key out,
It will beep and globe lights will be on when you take out the key and the door is open. Since it is indicating which door is open, as soon you close the door, the meter lights go off and it becomes silent.
The graphics for each door/ trunk opening , outside temp, low fuel etc and optitron lights are amazing to look. Rpm meter is more responsive then our stock one, But sadly I am letting this meter go.
It works perfect in my brother’s 2013 Gli Auto 1.6, speed shows , but airbag lights stay on, while in Altis even airbag light goes off.
Waiting for input by seniors or a good offer ,
