I am seeking advice on my 1.8 2009 corolla altis. It was a burning a lot of oil and my mechanics suggested me to get get top overhaul. They said that rings are fine and i only needed valve stem seals. They installed new valve stem seals without removing the head. They also refaced my tappets. A gear of the camshaft was also broken i got that installed as well.
After all this, the pickup of my car has significantly reduced. The mechanics are saying k neya neya kaam howa hai. Aap iski 1-2 haftay chalao 200-300km, phir gari khud hi theek ho jaye gi. Abhi ecu relearning kr rha hai. So, I wanted to know if this is actually a true phenomenon or is my mechanic hiding his mistakes.
