Before removing head, check oil pressure from cold to hot.
Check tappet gaps on all buckets, write them down remove buckets and keep in order (dont mix them up). Remove head and undo valve train to check for seat wear, do a valve job, meaning replace valves if their margins are too narrow
Cut fresh seats, make sure they are polished. Check valve guides for wear, replace/resleeve them as required
Check cam bearings for wear and also lobes, replace cam if damaged, powerwash cyl head oil galleries to clean out sludge.
Have machinist polish head face with diamond tool to get a less than 25 ra surface.
Clean block surface very very carefully with soft blade material like copper, clean all bolt holes to perfection.
