The colour you see is called varnishing

This happens when oil used is too thick to flow and has very poor detergency too.

i agree with you. need to use fully synthetic oil to clean this stuff. will be using lower grades now.

one more question. there tik tik tik sound from the head. what could be that sound of. . only head ring pisoton and crank shaft is left to overhaul.

can we overhaul the head part only? and then later on overhaul ring pistons too if needed

guys please suggest should i move to 10w40 now or 5w30 ? i have done the timing chain and vvti work.

i am not sure about the ring piston condition inside. shall i go down gradually?

one more thing on this 20w50 oil the car goes to operating temperature very slow like it needs 15 20 mins of driving to goes to operating temperature

Its better to switch to any 5w30 first. Incase it reduces or smokes then you can stick to 10w40 grade forever. That would be wise approach.

Yes yes you can individually do the head part. It could be bad tapets, grinding cam shaft. As sometimes due to poor oil pump, oil reaches on top slowly causing wear at cam shaft. Which can be individually treated and replaced. Once you'll remove head, timing plate will also be removed and there you can inspect oil pump for wear marks and if wear marks visible and oil pump kit can be placed inside and cam shaft replaced, issue will be resolved... Plus don't ever get scared by engine works.
I've rebuild many engines. Performance engines like 1jzgte, Sr20, nissans, mitsu's, Toyota nz's, zz's so always fix the worn out parts. Don't get scared working on any engine.

Tappet, Valves, Valves Seals, and Cam Shaft. Head Phasing . and install it back.

we have shop here who do complete Facing and making head to new 0 meter. and i can bring the remaining parts from Qabli shops here.

This beemari exists in usa too, e.g. awaam swap out entire bmw m54 engine due to head bolt thread failure, and they replace at least 3 or 3 to get one good engine.

While I remove the head, redo the threads in block with new inserts, rebuild the head, timing and vanos, superclean everything and it literally sings on first start and remain perfect in use.

Dumbasses who are swapping scrapyard stuff suffer the most.

The oldest way of diagnosis is used, test oil pressure, compression, leak down, and cooling system before the engine is removed or opened for repair.

Before removing head, check oil pressure from cold to hot.

Check tappet gaps on all buckets, write them down remove buckets and keep in order (dont mix them up). Remove head and undo valve train to check for seat wear, do a valve job, meaning replace valves if their margins are too narrow

Cut fresh seats, make sure they are polished. Check valve guides for wear, replace/resleeve them as required

Check cam bearings for wear and also lobes, replace cam if damaged, powerwash cyl head oil galleries to clean out sludge.

Have machinist polish head face with diamond tool to get a less than 25 ra surface.

Clean block surface very very carefully with soft blade material like copper, clean all bolt holes to perfection.

Honda city idsi. At first it ran quite okay and engine was also not burning oil. Now it has multiple issues from electrical to suspension work. Clearly a hassle.

i ending up in replacing complete suspension, engine parts, electrical parts , sensors.

only thing was good in car was just tyres

when buying a used car - its is wisdom to not consider it will be "faultless". It will be faulty as its used and worn out.

People in Pakistan are afraid of the concept of "ship of theseus" when talking about cars/vehicles while this thought process should not be applied to vehicles at all.

All machinery is built to wear out and its wise to replace parts to keep it dependable.

I agree with you, in pakistan people never maintain there car and they keep using it and in the end selling it with Jugaars, and people like us with less experiences ending up buying those rides and putting alot of efforts, time and money building them up. After getting this car, i myself become half mechanic
