Corolla Rattle Sound when Engine Start 2nzfe

Hey guys, i have seen many post here about Engine Rattle sound

i have 2nzfe Corolla, 90k Driven, When i start car i hear kar kar kar kar kar sound for 1 second and then it vanished.

I have another car with same engine but its 70k Driven, it dont have any such sound like this.

now i showed to one mechanic today, he said k iska neechay c camber khol k oil pump jaha c suck karta hai wo saaf karenge then Wapisi oil Fill karenge q k he said oil slow uth rha hai wahan kachra jama hone ki wajah se or crank pe slow jata hai ! What he said this to me .

He told me it will cost 2000 rs for this service excluding oil and oil filter

Now suggest k porana Oil hi Daldun wapisi ya new Dalun, Porana oil 200 KM chala hai bus its 10w40.

I have seen tons of Post on pakwheels people facing sound from all these engines and its National sound of Toyota engine,

Looks like either bad timing chain adjuster or bad oil pump

This is common in NZ series engines which are driven on 20W50. This is VVT rattle at startup.

Don't use 20w50

The rattle can be fixed with a new VVT phaser, although they can run forever with this noise. It requires opening of camshaft which is around 3hrs job. Just use 10W30 engine oil Havoline instead of 20W50 and use Toyota genuine or Guard oil filter. Observe the engine oil stick after every 500kms.

issue resolved. neechay c camber hata k usko saaf kia and jo jali thi oil khechnay ki wo jaam thi to oil sai nai ata tha. alhumdolillah issue resolved now. engine sound very much reduced and oil flowing smoothly.

update finally changed the timing chain, adjuster, side covers of chian. vvti gear and another gear and that sound vanished.

timing chain, adjuster, and side cover of china cost 5100 rs new taiwan made
vvti gear and and other gear cost 2000 for both from shafiq more Karachi.
mechanic charge 1500 rs for it

will use lighter grade oil in next oil change now.

something it cost 9k for this changes and sound is good now. before it was started in idle situation too

@xulfiqar further can i use more lower grade oil now ? 10w30 or 10w40 i am using 20w50 right now due to engine noise. now i have changed the vvti gear and timing chains

you see that blackish brown sludge all around the engine?

its because of using 20W50 oil, fill it up with 5w30 and drive on - dont do the "desi tareeqa ilaaj" ever again of "gaarha aail se awaz kam hojati hai"

btw - does your Rs 1500 mechanic own a torque wrench? because the vvt pulley is supposed to be unlocked first then torqued down.

yes but when i touch it its not something like slugged but a color inside. i did engine flush once when I bought it. will do it again too.

further my mechanic dont have that digital torque wrench . he is doing all on his experience

for oil change. if i pour 5w30 . will it start eating the oil because i am not sure the condition of ring pistons inside. last time i poured 10w30 and it ws making khich khich noise on high rpm so i moved to 2050. i dont know which sound was that. either crank pieces or timing chain. i need to experiment that again..

i can try 10w40 then 10w30 then 5w30 if oil is not reducing..

last owners abused the engine but not changing oil on time and was using garahhh oill
