What is meant by changing only radiator core. Is it middle copper body which our service wala used to clean with pressure water
Recently, I have serviced my radiator, guy opened and put only acid wash over radiator body, not welded or opened any part, after that, coolant is reducing drastically. No apparent leakage found, using 200 Rs. Wala local green color coolant but no micro leakage found but water is decreasing.
Radiator wala told may be your radiator covers its life so replace with Kabli radiator

Radiator have 3 parts.

Top cover with filler cap, Bottom Tank & Middle is called CORE - these 3 items assembled form a Radiator

core is combination of thin tubes meshed with fins to radiate heat away from flowing liquid

radiator core when leak it causes engine over heat and loss of coolant

What is the cost of core only for Corolla or Mehran radiator? Is it most expensive.
Is it possible to reuse same bottom and top with new core or recommended to change completely all parts as single set

18000 for OEM NEW from 3 S ready to install.

only core is not available for PKDM cars anymore. Loads Pakistan is making complete assemblies. ALLWIN = ATLAS Engineering Pakistan has stopped making cores since 2010

On my car I bought kabli radiator for around 9000 but it doesn't have the atf lines port so one side was opened from old leaky radiator and put on to the new one.

There were 6 or 7 other radiator core makers in karachi, who could make a custom sized core too, good quality products.

Ok so after a long delay, I am finally swapping 1nz fe with auto gear and it is costing me around 100k with all wiring and ecu and trans without Labour Charges. Whereas 3zz only assembly costing 100k and 1zz only assembly costing 80k in Karachi.

The car is overheating again and again and only 1 liter is required after every few kms. This is to tell how bad the situation is now. Block already has defect at thermostat area and the mechanic who previously done head gasket job in this car in Dec 2018 said categorically that block is Corroded and rusted and cannot done another head gasket job without removing block and welding and machining it and this process will also make it out of factory spec and it is not worth for long term.

For Record: Car mileage is around 161k and I am the first owner.
I will keep updating this thread.

Also what will be expected fuel average?

its already dead - corolla is used till scrap in all countries. Buy it and rebuild it first.

make sure the engine, wiring loom & ECU are from the same car.

clean & clear the engine open the hose pipes and check for draining liquid.

it shall not be foamy nor milky open the thermostat housing to see the condition of flange. any sludge, foam or milky residue .. engine is half dead due to overheating head gaskit kaput engine discarded scrapped.

if draining liquid is clean as running water thermostat flange is clear clean of any trace of rust, milky layers or colored residue its all good.

test the engine & wiring outside the car. JDM vehicle engine have cat converter & O2 sensor. all sensors shall be working and wired properly.

no twisting no nitto tapping. soldering & heat shrink ( heat shelink toob ) tubes shall be used to insulate & isolate the wire cuts.

Yes why not,
1.Engine and gear should be top notch condition. Do compression test before buying. Also inspect it physically.
2.Do proper wiring of gear and engine.
3.Install o2 sensor.
4.Install X corolla fuel pump assembly. As its single line.
5.Get Air condtion connected with Ecu, As fan is cintrolled by Ecu.

If you are first owner and car is genuinely driven 161k kms then i will say that this car has been abused and neglected. Its not uncommon for a corolla engine to last 300-400k kms with normal maintenance and good ones also last half a million kms. Saying with personal experience.
