I recently swapped a 1zz, and it was so new that it pulled 192psi compression, whereas manual tells new engine has 218psi.so basically its you, who chooses good engine over bad engine. Never try saving money while purchasing motors, go for the quality.
And the 1nzfe I swapped in a charade a year back pulled 180psi compression in all cylinders. These compression ranges are only available in good quality expensive engines.. The cheap cost effective ones are around 130-150 range, which is quite low for kabli engine. That's the reason most of the users like @Xulfiqar @capsat always suggest rebuilds. Since every body does not have a knowledge of finding gold in these scrap yards.
