There are people available that have good knowledge and use proper tools however they charge quite a lot than your normal ustaads. But they guarantee successful rebuilds.

Yeah 1nzfe swap is best option. Since 1nzfe is mostly appearing in 2010+ model condition and looks really new. It has a large top cover.
I have swapped one in a friends charade & it used to give 14 kmpl local on automatic transmission. It had 175 psi compression in all cylinders and every part of the engine was crystal clean like it came new.

Yar even i can do a guaranteed rebuild, & i would get maximum amount in my pocket. Even then im not suggesting him rebuild because, no rebuild goes for like 200k...all rebuilds work good for around 40-50k km but engine starts eating oil, or noises occur...

So rebuilds ka Matlab i will or anyone us will earn more, swap mein we will earn less, but using our whole knowledge and equipments we can get a fine new like engine & swap the assembly only.

For rebuilds you need proper machine shops, are there any? does any shop got CNC lathe machine? they polish the cylinder walls with hand drills .
Swap is the way to go for me.

Hahaha exactly bro. People claim they are maestro of rebuilds, and I'm myself very confident about rebuild that i will do, but I've guts to admit that these rebuilds are not good for long term.

I did one QG18de motor full rebuild with mls gasket, with proper torque wrench and head bolts replacement, it served well for 10k km on turbo. Was perfectly giving me good performance on turbo & turbo is like a css exam.. Lol so it was impressive rebuild. But then i sold off that engine, to some guy. He has ran it for like 50-60k km. So now it has started consuming oil little bit. But what I'm telling is the harsh reality. We don't have proper lathe machines & honing machines... Har koi kehta hai wo fit hai mein fit hun but in the end, if un sab kay comments yahan ajaen to kafi isay hongay jinhun ne daway kiye aur puray nai karsakay. Aur car owners becharay pw pe kehte nai hain izzat rakhlete hain. So paisay kisi ko burray nai lagtay but i beleive sachai bta kay kamany chaye.

I should get complete engine with wiring and ecu and what should we look for in the engine? Obviously mechanic will be with me but I also want to know what things need to be checked?

Secondly are there different variants of 1nz? And what is the cost of this engine in the market? Can AC compressor alternator, cluster, gear shifter and radiator can be used of my 3zz?

means you are equally "bad" if you rebuild engine and they start troubling after 50,000.
my 2005 corolla from ISB was rebuilt in karachi by my regualr shop.

the new owner is doing periodic maintenance and car is a daily mule still flawless after 5 years usage

We don't have lathe machines at home & the quality of the parts is also not good, you've to carefully find them. Even if you're using technology at its best rebuilds are never that successful. & I've seen many people trying to be smart heads on pw and suggesting rebuilds & in background they're running workshops and smartly calling those clients for rebuild.. So i hope you understand.

Remove tapet cover:see the sludge deposit & how clean it looks.
Remove water jacket: see if it has clean metal surfaces or a rusty surface.
Remove plugs :By cellphone torch see through plug holes to see how golden or black are Pistons. Try getting golden or silver shade, free from carbon.
Do compression test right at the shop by offering that shop wala some amount kay yeh lein khan jee 500 rakhen ap, ye sirf islea deraha hun k btaon engine lene wala hun, chaskay nai laga raha.

Khan jee will smile xD

These are some things you need to see & always correlate whole information and inference in to conclusion. Like tapet cover is clean & rust is present means either it is temporary surface rust.
Is tarah you will know time to time that how accurate your analysis was about the engine

the machine shop and the parts , i agree on that however if you know what to do you can ask the machine shop to follow your instruction not their instincts or hearsay / tajurba. If you know the clearance data, the honning required and paying for it it is your right to get the desired result.

it is matter of finding a shop which can do job as you ask .and you should also know the data., not the other way around.

The 2 machine shops in KHI , Malik Autos & Punjab Auto Mechanical Works are into business since i was in knickers. Both owners are now in mid 70s' Their CNC & Lathe machines are state of the art. I have seen them doing TAHLOO kam for day in day out customer and there are people from which they charge premium for as per manual specs.

so again i'd say it is matter of finding a shop which can do work to your specs & data. and it will not fail

Sir i always give them my piece of data. First the Labour used to resist, since they used to laugh on the clearance data, slowly they started working on the same readings. But what i am trying to say is, i was using that engine on 5w30 liquimoly AAtec and it was turbo & spanking rev limiter was my routine habit.. Every owner does not uses quality oils. The guy whom i sold the engine tried different experiments, some 5w40 shell then havoline and then eventually 10w40. Plus QG18de has consumption problems overall.

Lekin understand my point of view that you can gurantee because we are not sitting with the end users, how they drive & maintain is something we don't know. So that's the reason. The engine that is not rebuild & is in clean condition absorbs the ragra and somehow manages to clock good readings on odometer

thats one specfic case does not mean rebuilds are failure, Since no turbo rebuild kits are available in UAE / Pakistan it is almost impossible to rebuild Turbo units. Yard turbos are serious gamble.

exactly this has happend to us but when we stayed blank face they realised we mean serious business got the job done and the result is exemplary for the rebuild. 5 years and engine is as sound less as new.
