your amp will never draw 100amperes of current. normally its peak operating current would be around 40-60ampere max...

what do u plan on running on this amp?? speakers and that PRS sub?? the PRS sub wont need alot of power to get loud. dont worry about it.

the main purpose of the fuse in wire is to protect short circuiting...especially when your positive wire might accidently get grounded. instantly the fuse will melt (because of massive current due to zero load/resistance across the fuse)..

if there is only one amp on this wire...ur all good. get the fusion wire. and tell me where u buy it from cause i also need a fusion wire

the earthquake wiring kit is pure **** (really bad !).. seriously man dont get it ! overrated stuff...all shielding and n copper ! its actually 6 gauge... u will be better off getting stinger 6 gauge wire (legit 6 gauge and oxygen free highest quality copper)...the only thing impressive in that kit is the 150A inline fuse and thats it...

how do i know this ? cause have seen it in person...and ended up getting stinger 4 gauge wire...a hell lotta difference !

if u cant find stinger u'd be better off with fusion kit...

Mohsin but stinger kit isn't available anywhere. Only fusion kit is available. What are your views on the fusion 4 awg?

like i said mate...if stinger is not available.. then you can get fusion...it is pretty decent...

or another option is get stinger 6 gauge wire....and get ur own RCA's and remote wire an stuff...

u had mentioned 80ampere with fusion kit and now u say it is 60ampere???! 60ampere fuse on a 4ga kit is rather low...i doubt that fusion kit is 4 gauge man! so becareful..dont trust these shopkeepers.

normally a good 4 gague wire can support upto 150ampere....and have fuse between 100-150ampere...this 60amp fusion kit might not be 4 gague...do double check..

and get stinger one from karachi..

Guys tomorrow I will be testing my new sub at 8Ohms load. I searched the net for wiring and found two diagrams.

Which diagram should I follow? In the crutchfield diagram, +ve and -ve terminals on the same side are connected to the amp in bridged mode while in the RF diagram, +ve and -ve terminals on opposite sides are connected to the amp in bridged mode. Based on my limited knowledge of physics, I believe both are ok and should result in 8ohm load. Am I correct?

The sub is a W12PRS (2 x 4OHM DVC) and amp is 4 Channel Soundstream 960.4

sir both diagrams are essentially the same. only in one the terminals are shown next to each other and in the other, they are on opposite side of each other

Thanks....It is 240rms at 8ohms and I believe its pretty decent for my requirements, not to mention that the sub is 300W rms

I tested the amp today with the w12prs sub today. The amp performed flawlessly (I checked for around 20 mins). The sub however produced fat/muddy bass compared to a kicker I auditioned. I guess this has to with the enclosure at the shop (you know how they are, huge and ported etc)

sir that is a beautiful amp..congratulations!! wonderful purchase..

yes ..the w12prs will sound amazing in a 1cuft sealed box (thats what pioneer recommends for this sub)..

and 240rms is more than enough for this sub...its probably one of the most efficient subs. i think its got around 92-93dB sensitivity. u can make it go loud with just 200rms...

i hope u intend on making a sealed box?? cause as far as i remember, pioneer has not recommended this for vented box...its a purely SQ sub..

as for ur amp...well ...my mouth is watering! good buy!
