i have the exact same power wire kit. however i think you got it quite expensive for $100. because i got mine from haroon radio for rs4500..its also the SHK641 kit..

anyway, would love to hear your setup.

also, do you have any idea where i could get genuine altis tweeter covers??

How hot should this amp be after 30 mins of listening at moderate volume (15-20) with 0 gain? It was fairly hot when I touched it. Should I be worried?

Also I can take out the sub whenever I want by removing the speaker wire from the enclosure....rite?

i have heard that the tra 960 gets pretty hot. as long as it doesnt trip, than it shud be fine.

but its still quite weird that its getting hot despite being at 0 gain....strange

and yeah u can take out the sub by removing the speaker wire from enclosure. but u shud insulate the loose wire end because it will cause a short circuit when the +ve lead comes in contact with the -ve end. your amp will trip if not get damaged. so u can do two things when removing sub:

-take out wire from amp and enclosure both
-or take out wire from enclosure and just insulate each end (positive and negative) separately so that they dont come in contact...

Thanks! thats a really useful tip and I had no idea. Before you posted, I thought all I had to do was take out the enclosure and tape the wire together.....lol

Regarding the sub, I have a feeling this is louder than a CV I have in another GLI in a ported box. Very accurate

sir the best thing you can do is get male/female connectors. cut ur woofer wire in half and connect the connectors to sub and the amp side wire. this way you can easily connect and remove your sub. also check if your amp ground is done properly. which size wire are you using for ground?

I am using the 4awg wire present in the wiring kit for the ground purposes. Can you please post a pic of these connectors?

1stly mani1 congrats, and i am really glad that you are liking the setup and satisfied with it. The main thing is satisfaction, people spend 100s of thousand on car installs but aren't satisfied, maybe they dont have the right combo or stuff, maybe they didnt tune the setup right, anyways i am really glad. etc

Yes, i think you will be amazed with your setup after the break in (since every thing ie tweet, woofer and sub all will get much smoother and accurate), and after the tweet location has been changed.

Just checked by taking pics. Sub was on full gain and full bass boost. Speakers were on 0 bass boost and 3/4 gain. This was the reason the sub was this loud. It was good though

sir its kinda like the connector you have for the rear shelf brake light. most car accessories shop have em and they come in different sizes and shapes. check the market around. i have one lying at home, will post pics when i get back.
