I have a Corolla X 2005 1.5 Auto
Is it possible to swap my 4 speed auto transmission with CVT transmission of AXIO?
Since the Corolla X and Axio both have the same engine model no... 1NZ-FE....
If it's the same engine then yes
ECU must support it
No need to. 4 speed auto is way stronger and durable then cvt of same generation. On top of it you would need an ecu change.
Dude why? With a cvt transmission, if you maintain it properly, i.e transmission fluid changes every 50k km, maybe then it'll last you 150,000km. That 4 speed auto if you change the fluid regularly at 50k, it'll last you forever.
ECU should not support... so will an AXIO ECU work in Corolla X?
But the economy on higher speeds is very poor! Especially on motorway...
The money you save on fuel you'll eventually spend it in replacing your cvt when it gets fried, plus the kharcha of installing the cvt itself. If it's bothering you so much, just switch cars then, preferably one with a 5 speed auto (like city or civic) that will give you better fuel consumpiton.
Nah man... once you go JDM u never come back!
Was just wondering... not wondering anymore!
Well yeah you have a valid point, if that's the case then get another jdm which gives better fuel average, as I'll still recommend against you switching to a cvt.
Economy is very good, but mantaining it is an art.
