I so miss lockdown air quality, had the best morning walks during those times. Sadly everything is back to "normal", the toxic air is back.

The sky was so clear, it was surreal. I took these pictures of sky in Lahore during lockdown (without any camera filters). Just look at its beauty.

NCOC have issued request to Federal Govt for directives to be implemented at all federal govt offices strictly enforce SOPs'.

All staff members over and above age of 55 shall work from home. Select days and hours are for Public dealing offices. Work hours will be extended upto 4 pm so to facilitate maximum services for public. Market areas shall be closed latest by 7 pm. Ration Shops, Dairy outlets Pharmacies will be allowed to work late night under sops. NCOC have also recommended to implement early start of businesses and banks for maximum utilization of day light hours.

we are heading for next TOUGH & TOTAL lock down if recommendations are not implemented by provincial and district administrations.

In whole Pakistan we are hearing the news of slapping lockdown again if the sops are not implemented.
I wish we all should be cooperative with the government so we can avoid the next lockdown. Much damage has already occured to economy and all sections of life. Education sector is no exception.
I am not in favor of lockdown but being careful is good.

Perhaps, the pandemic had prevailed to teach us implementation of the rules and regulations and following good moral values.

We should be practical; a vast majority of our population doesn't care about SOPs. Unless there is a proper lock down this pandemic cannot be controlled. Our healthcare system cannot bear its burden.

Secondly, economy should never be given preference over health.

And finally, this pandemic hasn't taught us anything. We have seen face masks, hand sanitizers, anti - fever medicines, Actemra etc. being sold many times higher than the actual price. Our nation sees 'opportunity' in every crisis and natural calamity.

After the first wave life was back to 'normal'. Same is expected again once it is over.

This virus is out to kill the human race. But apparently its still "yahoodi saazish" or "maghribhi phobia" in Pakistan. No matter if our fellow citizens have seen deaths from it first hand.

But I personally favour a complete lock down until proper vaccine/medicine is not widely available.

Just came back from the USA around a month ago. There I saw only about 1 in a 100 people not wearing a mask in public places (shops, stores, malls e.t.c). Came back to Pakistan and it's the exact opposite, only 1 in a 100 people are wearing a mask.

anyway - Just attended a burial yesterday of a very sweet old lady I knew, she died from lung damage caused by this virus. She did all precautions of social distancing but she was of old age and had preexisting medical conditions which made her a very easy target.

Problem is that Pakistanis love to compare the wrongdoings in our society with other yahoodi mumalik.
Recently was talking with a colleague regarding the high rape cases and he cut me off and said Bhai koyi masla nahi Hai, Amreeka waghera mai iss se bhi zyaada cases hote hain koyi report nahi karta. Man I wanted to punch him and break his teeth right there and then.

My point was about lockdowns not masks. US never did full scale lockdown and kept blaming china and we can see the result.

You are being annoyed for no reason. Please don't mind but we should be more concerned with realities of our country and society.

You must be aware of the health facilities we have here. During the first wave reputed private hospitals were charging close to 1 million rupees (on an average) for admission and treatment. Please tell how many people can afford this? On the other hand govt hospitals were full to capacity. Ventilators were severely deficient and treatment being done by inexperienced fresh doctors. While seniors were mostly giving instructions from their homes. A number of people died at their homes with little to no medical attention.

During that first wave the only thing which somewhat prevented this virus in our country was the lock down in its initial days.
