It doesn't i have tried it. i tired it in a friends corolla.
Once lockdown ends i will buy spiral cable and install my multimedia steering too and show that by just installing the stalk and the wire to the ECU there is no indication in meter but techstream does read that cruise is installed.

I have seen like 100 videos of cruise installation in this corolla with this meter not the mid one. Videos were from different parts of the world like Turkey, Russia etc. In some countries the wiring to the meter is present in some it is not and in the videos they were using cruise without the light, likewise wiring to the meter is not present in PKDM cars i am just not sure if toyota indus has gone so far as to remove the circuitry on the meter as well. A good electrician will be able to identify which wire is for the cruise in the meter only if circuitry is present.

I agree with this but in the video they show the connection of the cruise stalk to the ECU only not the connection to the meter as that is already wired in most cars.
If you see that the connector removed from the back side of the spiral cable already has a bunch of wires, one of them should be already connected to the meter.

I already have a multi media steering installed with the cruise control switch.
Just need to get the ECU wiring done.
Have checked with some good electricians, but they never done this mod, so they said they can't.

Wiring to the ECU is easy one can also do at home. The only difficulty is finding those locking pins that you attach at the end of the wires which lock in to connector. The pin for the wire connecting to the back of the spiral cable is available easily from most audio shops who install multimedia steering wheels. They add wires to stock connector for the new switches and have those pins. The pin for the connector on the ECU side is a bit different so finding that is not easy, if available any one can do it, its very easy.

And is your car Altis 1.6 or Gli and which headunit ??

I agree, without the light it wont feel good.

But as I live in Karachi and don't feel the need of CC in the city, never really went after it.
Have done other mods.
