Corvette Suspension has Leaf Springs, How?

THis is the Technical data of Corvette 7.0 V8. How come it has got leaf spring suspension? If i am not mistaken leaf springs are kamanis as used in trucks etc.

no. i am not anti-american. i have nothing against vette. its just not my type,,,,, i think its too...... flashy!. expensive for me and i ended up getting chased by a vette in usa by a guy whose ex. i was seeing. lol.... shhh!. he never caught me. btw.

Leaf springs dont necessarily equate to a primitive suspension setup On the other hand it displays better load handling capabilities and criper response. The Vette does not have the conventional sliptical setup you see on a rigid axle setup but a transverse mounted composite unit. Its claimed to be the world's quickest acting suspension.

dont vette suspension automatically go low when you sped up the car. that factor as is enough to maintain road grip. vette has lots of road grip i think. because of its wide spread body

khattak....... best way to smoke a vette driver is to stop with a distance. let him walk out of his car towards you,,,,,,then at a safe distance, throttle up and loose him while he gets stund by yr wheel spin. it was GT-S corolla back then, enough time to loose before he gets back into his car and revs up

ditto FLi. a transversely placed high-performance leaf spring is more responsive than coil springs.
To explain it better, think of a leaf spring which runs PARALLEL to the rear axle, instead of two sets of leaf springs which are perpendicular to the axle (ala trucks, busses, SR5, MEHRAN! lol). usually, its on top of the axle, and attached to the hubs at both ends. i dont know how the corvette suspension works, but i am sure there must be anti-roll bars in tandem with it.

Hope you see the light now, and things are brighter, lol! Leaf spring suspensions do keep the wheel firmly plented to the road and hence providing more grip. But it does so to a certain limit, apparently the boys at chevy have over come this, and divised a better suspension. I am sure it has been done by a help of an outside firm.
