Cost of Corolla 2015 Engine overhaul

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a corolla 2015 but didnt realize it has a bad engine sound. It seems the engine is weak and I may have to replace/overhaul it. I do not want to go for replacement but would go with overhaul.

Any idea how much would an overhaul cost me in Islamabad? Any mechanics suggestions?

Do compression test first. It will reveal actual engine health. Sound may be coming from something else, unless previous owner didnt bothered to change engine oil or etc.

A good overhaul may cost 80-100K approx, and cheap overhaul will not be good.

What sort of sound? Something minor like tappets, or cold start rattle?
Or something major, like big end bearings, bent con rods etc?

its so hard to tell. I am not good at these things at all. I had sold the car to someone else though a while back. corolla doesnt work for me, ever.
