Crack in the windshield(mehran)!

   a few months back i was travelling on the kashmir highway and suddenly some stones struck the windshield of my mehran due to the car in the front.... this left an about 1 inch length crack in the front windshield... and yesterday while cleaning the windshield suddenly crack further got extended about 8 inches now...


   so plz suggest me what is the best thing to do now... and what is the cost of fitting new windshield?? and should i do it?? would it effect the resale or something?? coz i cant bear that crack... plz help... ill put some pics when i come back today inshAllah!


   and plz also educate me on what should have i done as a first aid so that this crack had not extended this much!!

you should have got it treated in the first place

now that you have not done so and the crack has extended quite a bit. I think you need to get it replaced with the genuine Mehran windshield. Pls make sure you donot get those desi windshileds cuz they get blury very quick and you will ind it hard to drive in the night.

It is advisable to take your car to proper service centre for this. One thing more, this swap is very easy and all work will be over in a very less time.

no issues .. just change it to the original one...

i dont know the cost of it but i am sure its not that expensive !!!

i hve a crack on my margala windsheild more dan half of the windsheild is crackd from 2 sides for more than a decade it travels sumtime bt only if car travel to my village

and yup can sumbody hve any idea abt price of gud nt desi windshield..

guys i checked the prices... in saddar rawalpindi

waseem autos: original company windshield Rs2300/-
Rs150/- fitting
time almost 20 mins!

another shop nearby: desi windshield atleast Rs.950/-
original company Rs.2000/-
fitting Rs.150/-
time almost 15 mins

Central Motors workshop: windshield price Rs3685/-
fitting Rs1600/-
time from morning till evening.

So i would not even think abt going to central motors... im think to go for that another shop one... everything in Rs2150/-

mine is not that much but i cant bear any defaults in my car.. i cant live with that... it looks bad... especially windshield looks very bad... margalla price would also be near 3000/- max i think!

I think change of windshield in corolla is detectable if u sell it.. While in mehran it was not the case. Experts might advise better!
