Crash Course: Visit to Deosai & Rama

Shiggar valley is beautiful and magnificiant, but besides visiting Amrique Mosque other spots to visit tanked badly so we came back to Skardu, we did met to Iranian who were cycling to shiggar on there moutain bycycles we shared our experience and they told us there story..

One of them was able to speak little urdu so we exchanged number becuase they were looking forward to visit Lahore as well, they had plans to cycle through Deosai as well and we advised them to take there cycles on jeep to plains and then cycle therr and enjoy.

We went to the market after reaching back to Skardu and bought dry Fruits, Balti Cap stuff like that.. And during the shopping we met a moutaineer and a Guide who told us about his services.

He said he can take us to Bear sighting tour into deep deosai wilderness, he can take us to concordia/BaseCap of mighty K2 ..

Price of each tour ranged from 45k+ to 200K... depending upon what type of luxury you want to carry along.

I forgot the name of the guy he told he is a famous person among mountaineers and has a famous fan page on Facebook as well..

any body rememebre his name or a FB ID ? @kashi.khan @salar.gilani @pirates @rocketscience @mqsdrana ??

After buying stuff we planned to reach skardu airport to have a look of its landing strip but when we reached there the security reason did not let us stop and have a look.

Now we still had Shangrilla and its lakes in our pocket but shiggar valley thing wasted our time, but weekend was about to reach its End and we knew it would atleast take 2(or may be 3 days) to go back as we were damn really really far from home

It was evening time and we planned to go to Jaglot and take a rest so next day we can Enter KPK atleast so that on third day we cn reach back Lahore..

so we started our Journing without a knowledge of how far KKH was there from actually and it was already an evening...

eh he he he he he he so you can imagine what happened next ...

The road was one single strip of asphalt which was largly missing at Curves and ridges and there was constant flow of trucks and heavy traffic as this is the only road which connnects the skardu city to KKH

The River flows just beside it and creates a hau nting HOWL constantly which can freak out any body who sees a storming river for the first time.

At many spots the mountain shadows the road completly like a roof and seeps water from it .. so it feels like raining when you stand beneath it..

We took a tea brake after a 3 hour riding and by that time the little evening light which was left was about to diminsh..

By the time we finished our tea.. it was pitch black..

And then a local driver there told us that KKH is atleast 6 hours away.. and we were looking at each others faces...

Soon the day light started to pour IN and all the bikers groups started to leave we were the second last to leave Shahdrah Junction and @tucknoloji and his fellow were the last group who were waiting for there riders to show up or some thing ?

After spending some good time at lake we planned to go ahead... and only 4 people including @salargilani, @ammarzahid, @pirates and @vickytulla agreed others planned to take a chill pill and relax out at lake...

This was one of the best trekking I ever had in my life so far... First we decided to take the bikes to atleast where the animal shelters were but soon realised that the track had like feet or more deep pot holes and stones as big as near 1.5 feet high.... so salr being on CD100 had to park it in midway after he realized that bike will fall... where as me on trial and @ammarzahid on his High tail GS continued...

Trail did not gave a single moment to me where I coud sense that I was loosing control or if the bike will not go ahead it was like "Feeling at home" ..

ammar reved the hell out of GS to follow but after it reached the water wodden bridge the bike become total mess of mud.. I waved at him and advised him not to bash her this hard it will damage and will not go to deosai.. so he stopped finally we towed him out of mud and he parked.

The adventure was Mind Blowing Epic and I have made a Gopro footage of it .. will share it.. you will see Bike Jumpin on Big stones like hell breaked out..

Gs is a good bike.... And rider must know its abilities n limits ...

1. Say no to servis Cruiser 90/90-18
2. Having street bike for touring.. Adjust the luggage weight more side ways tail Top box not recommended.
3. Top box recommended if there is a weight loaded on both side and wheel base is longer and plus broader hybrid tyres are installed ...
4. Less leaning on curves....
5. Safe guards r must if luggage ia loaded.
6. Bigger tail top boxes r not recommended especially for newbies

Rest more experience riders can rectify and add anything ... Open to learn from other's experiences

Why not Service 90/90-18??

Servis especially cruiser is made for log life means low road grip and that dangerously low.
It slips easily on wet road or sudden brakes.
I have talked to 2 ybr and 1 rp guy that did u try to lean ? They replied same...
Dar lagta hai ke bike nikal jayegi [emoji14] it shows the pathetic grip of cruiser. Rp guy upgraded to trekker and he was leaning the same bike to nearly 45 degree very easily.

Agreed... No leaning on curves means no fun but having weight on tail with thinner tyre .. One must b extra cautious ...

I was having trekker tyre at back, but very balances weight on both sides ... Enjoyed riding n leaning on curvy snake roads from murree Express road till keran almost... It ws fun

so we started our Journing without a knowledge of how far KKH was there from actually and it was already an evening...

eh he he he he he he so you can imagine what happened next ...

And then a local driver there told us that KKH is atleast 6 hours away.. and we were looking at each others faces...

After learning about the track from locals, we decided not to make further "Chilling" stops.. beside its of no use either as its dark and nothing related to "sight seeing" can be done further more...

We had an option to stop in a mid way there were few spots including ptdc at Stak Nala... but we new we would run out of holidays on the way back...

so Jaglot was materialized to be the final destination to spend the night.

We Took our dinner near Stak Nala just after crossing the PTDC.. the food was amazing it was Namkeem Steamed chikken with a choice of any dish along it from various fried vegitables and daal.

We relaxed and took tea after words and then again hit the road..

The track was in a poor condition and was constantly in use by heavily loaded trucks, but the way the locals and drivers were taking care of us was extra ordinary.

As it was pitch black and when a truck, car or a bus comes in front of us we were totally blind as it was unable to determine were the road actually is and as the road has hardly any safety fence (I did spotted it at some spots) so I was really dangerous.. but the local driver would immediately switch of the head lights and let us pass there vehicle and then they continued there journey.

we waved back at them thanking to show our gratitude.. This is not a usual case when some one let you drive pass safely here in lahore.. lol

As what I had little information that Jaglot is base to a Army heavy arms Depot and lots of VIP and local movement is faced by it and will have some really good Hotels/Motels, even Google map showed "Chaudary Hotel" anchored there..

We reached in the middle of the night and were craving to get into bed when we came to know there are no hotels, only side parking truck/Manji Hotels with no washrooms and water..

We were like are you kidding me ? What the Duck????

Finally after enough head bacnging a hostel (part time hotel) allowed to spend night at there hostels room where already local workers were sound asleep... we managed to get atleast one whole room and we all stuffed inside it..

They did had washroom with water.. but that washroom was a nightmare..

Aik do dostoon ko tu jo ayee hui thee wo bhi chali gayee khushbu songh ker or halat dekh ker...

Any ways good part was that we had a really nice war sleep and were "Fram Fresh" next day... took nice quick breakfast and Hitted the KKH..

I let the boys roll first and went for an Oil change as Bike was alreacy 1400km on the current oil (I forgot to change on 1k :D) lol

and then I was on the road as well..

KKH was hell like Alpine Roads from europe.. maza agaya... Loved it tottally...

Took NangaParbat Shot in the midway..

Then we reAssemble at Lulusar as we were unable to stop here due to snow storm on the way up ...

We took our dinner at Punjab Hotel ofcourse (same where @nishat12 sahab stopped ) and there sajji was awesome..

then we headed to balakot, and found a really nice hotel there... in the midway I ran out of feul (samll trail Feul tank) nouman then share feul with me from his mighty piaggio feul tank which was not even half

The hotel rates were dead low in Balakot I think they let us seven sleep for 1500 I think. lol
