Crossing into China

Hi guys

I am not sure that a topic of such a nature has ever been discussed here as i want to ask the following questions from Tour Gurus of Pakwheels:

1. Is it possible to cross into China via Khunjerab pass
2. If yes then does any one know about the requirements needed( i heard that their is no restriction)
3. Now according to my research, the cities after the KHNJRB Pass especially Kashgar are very beautiful and worth visiting
4. The scenery of mountains as well as deserts are very beautiful

Now all the above discussion aside, has any pw member ever crossed into China via this route i-e., via G314 highway on a bike or car, if yes can he list down the total expenses, tour plan, places to visit and all those necessary details which every tourist will have to take into account.

I am a CA trainee student so i don't get much leaves and i may not be able to visit these Chinese wonderful cities in near future, but do make this thread a beacon for any one who wants to embark on this tour.

You may not believe it but the Silk Route is sometimes being called 8th wonder of the world due its beauty:)

So guys happy touring and please if any one has some information please do not hesitate.

u can go via khunjrab but u req visa............. just tourist visa required.....
yes the area is very butiful.........

u wont be able to take ur own vehicle i guess.......

from khunjjrab u will get into chinese busses etc.......

You need to cross Attabad lake to travel further to Chinese border, right?

International travelers who have entered china from pakistan say getting vehicle permit is very difficult. I suppose being a Pakistani it does not make the process any easy....

also, i think it is not possible to get tourist visa as an individual person. You need to be 5 persons at least and apply through chinese travel agency. It was like this 2 years ago, dont know whether this has been changed or not yet...

anyone can correct ???

We have bad luck surrounding our country from all sides
On left Afghanistan aur right par India, waha to janay ka socha bi nai ja sakta aur jaha jaya ja sakta hay means Xingjian, alas wo be China ka trouble wala province nikla
So so unlucky that we face so many restrictions and now polio vaccine drops are also compulsory for all Pakistani international travellers:'(

Yes but the reason should also be provided as well as reference to the rule number that has been violated so that in future such mistakes could be avoided
Now i am not mad or anything because moderators have absolute authority but i merely wanted to know the reason for my own knowledge.

And it is such a vast, beautiful and diverse area that a good travel guide is a must
One can travel on his own if he wants to visit only Kashgar, however, there so much more beauty and each city has its own secrets, myths and architecture, hence a competent travel guide who has in depth knowledge of the province is a must in my opinion.
