Cruise control corolla gli 1.3 2010

Assalamualikum Pakwheelers,

I need some urgent help. I'm trying to add cruise control to corolla gli 2010 1.3 pkdm. I did all the wiring to the ecu to pin 40. All wiring seems right but cruise control won't engage. i know there is no light for cruise in the speedometer but still when driving above 40 kmph and using the switch to engage cruise simply nothing works.

• I checked the wiring from the switch to the ecu using a multimeter and when i press any button on cruise joystick the values change on the multimeter.
• There is constant 12 volts in the pin 40 of the ecu. Coming all the way to the steering wheel. But the 12 volts are constant even when the ignition is off.
• When I test continuity between pin 40 and ground it is shorted as the multimeter starts beeping.

Please guide me as i am doing this to surprise my father on his birthday.

Means pin 40 doesn’t belong to cruise in this variant.

No pin 39 has no voltage its dead. I tried pin 40 yesterday and to my surprise it has 12 volts in it which is the operating volts for cruise control. Only problem is it didn't work and the 12 volts are always on whether the ignition is on or off

First be sure that ecu supports cruise control (I doubt it).
Otherwise it will not engage as ecu doesn't got the required hardware inside.
12v you see would be because of a pull up resistor.
A good obd2 scanner can help you in this regard as well. It will assure your if ecu supports cruise or not and if it does, You can see the live input/output.

Yes there is a 50/50 chance of the ecu supporting cruise control. Some people say it works some say ecu doesn't support cruise.

Im thinking i should buy toyota tech stream. Will that help and is it worth it?

Is there any other way to go by this without a proper obd2 to check??

I dont think that the ecu will support cruise control.

Take the car to someone who has a good scanner. Just look at the live data; nothing too complicated. You'll get your answer.

Soo i have a obd2 scanner and i actually found cruise control options. I can check if cruise is engaged or at what speed it is working.
Leta see what results i get

Update:-
I used my obd2 scanner to look for any live data from the cruise control system and there is nothing (attached a ss).
I dont think that it supports cruise and the car also doesn't like it when i remove the battery multiple times and mess around with the ecu as today it was running a bit funny. Its running good now but im done with this project. I removed the cruise wiring completely

If somebody wants to buy it i will sell it for a discount otherwise im returning.

Also one things that is interesting to mention. The clock spring on this corolla is incomplete from factory. The cruise control connectors on both ends of the clock spring are not connected in any way. I tested with a multimeter and it showed no continuity which means there is no wiring in the clock spring. It could be that its broken but highly unlikely in my opinion. I used the airbag connectors to make this work and worked like a charm.
