installing the thermostat valve is kind of risky though in older cars, especially the ones that have their engine's / gaskets overhauled ..
i'd say don't install the thermostat valve at least in summers, but just make the raidator fan auto.
15 minutes to warm up in summers is too much.. i think 2-3 minutes of warm up is more than enough even for a 2003 model engine.
my car also reduces coolant/water, but i am yet unable to find a mechanic who can properly fix this issue : ( everyone i took the car to just did a visible leak check and said no leaks found, it's normal.. etc. etc..
