Cultus 2007 vxr non efi. Fuel average issue

Dear All Salam Hope every 1 is fine.
I need a suggestion from you guys i have cultus 2007 vxr and its fuel average is disturbed from few days like 6 km with AC with in city. Or with out Ac its giving 8 to 10km/L approx. Please suggest me what should i do jb k is ki average achi ha smjh nai aa rhi ye itni km kiyu dy rhi ha kindly suggest karein k kiya krun ye kiya msla ho skta ha apki mehrbani ho gi.

Check for the following things:

1. Carburetor Service.
2. Air Fuel Mixture.
3. Ignition System and Spark Plugs
   and overall tuning of the car.

what is the total mileage on your Odo and What oil are you using? When was the last Tuning done?

Thanks for the reply bhai. Mein ny 3months pehly li ha gari abi tk complete tuning tu nai krai but plug wagera saaf kraye thy and thori setting wagera bs carburator wagera kuch nai service kraya abi.. Is mei oil shell ka yellow wala dalvaya ha 4000 km wala.

And suggest karein k is mei oil kon sa dalvana chahiye vxr mei.

go to a Mechanic You trust and who knows how to tune cars. it is just a tuning issue nothing major.

When ever you buy a used car. Change all the fluids i.e Oil, Coolants etc, Service the Brakes, Tune the engine, Change all the belts, Change the spark plugs etc.

There is no oil which can last 4000km. Oils should be changed at max 3000km along with the Oil Filter. Next time you change the Oil Check for grade it should be 10W40 for an old cultus engine. The One you are using is 20W50 way to thick and it can cause engine wear.

sir the myth of oil change is utterly wrong, practiced wrong.

read any owner's manual the base line ( minimum ) oil change is recommended at 5000 kms, and oil change is suggest at 7000 kms. every user manual suggest oil level check & top up before 7000 kms.

sharing Japanese language manual in english speaking tropical locations is gross stupidity done over this forum done by few.

10w-40 / 10w- 30 down south location - or 5W-40 / 5W - 30 up north location in Pakistan
is the best all weather engine oil. That can be used almost in every vehicle without any after thoughts.

Check the Atlas Honda, Indus Toyota & Suzuki websites for OEM recommended oil specs. They are pouring / recommending 2 different oil grades for selection of user across the country.

synthetic or generics the viscosity remains the same while cleaning agent nano particle additives identify the Price of lubricant.

the digit before W signify the ambient outside temperature for cold start., the last 2 digits signify the viscosity of oil at the peak engine temperature.

if & when there will be grade 0W- 16 engine oil available in Pakistan, The self proclaimed pundits will start advocating for the same grade to be sourced and used ir-respective of the fact that local assemblers are still using pre 2010 motors for their vehicles in Pakistan.

as of now in Europe & US - every Toyota & Honda is using : 0W-20 grade engine oil.
while in ASEAN tropical belt 5W-20 is all time favorite.

If the previous owner has abused the vehicle by running it on CNG then the chances are your petrol tank would also be in a bad condition. Try to get your vehicle tuned properly, see if the carburetor is healthy, plugs, etc. A lot of factors add to bad fuel average from non-balanced wheels to your way of driving. On my cultus carby, the best average within the city was 13-14 without AC and mind you I drive between 40 to 50-60. Shell Yellow 10w40 is good and if it's original you can use it up to 5000KM easily.

Yes, but when the vehicle manufacturer has recommended 10W40 you are saying 10w40 and 30 can be used almost in every vehicle without any after thoughts. The OP could pour 10W30 after reading your comment which may actually harm the engine given its thinner viscosity. Not challenging your knowledge on vehicles just saying in regards of OP.

Yes, my model is even older, its 2002. I am in Karachi. My vehicle was mostly used on CNG by the previous owner, after tuneup etc the average was pretty bad. Carburator was serviced (butterfly work), jets were changed, tank taken out and cleaned properly using a cleaning agent I dont remember the name but the tank was in pretty bad shape. I drive calmly all the time, even when taking the vehicle to 80 or 100 make sure you take it easy and don't try to achieve a record of "I did 0-100 on my Cultus in xxx seconds" and you would get the best possible fuel average. The best mileage I got was 16.5 while on a trip to north on highways/motorways.
