Cultus 2008 EFI EPS turning on and off causing extremely bad mileage

AOA,

My cultus has a power steering kit installed but recently the switch is going on and off without touching the steering wheel. It is in turn causing the IAC valve to increase idle rpm upto 1200 and fluctuations as well. If you see any other fault in the recording that could cause low mileage please point it out as the avg is around 9 on mostly highways.

Did you have this installed by someone?

Yes a year ago. The switch never showed on in the scanner it recently started happening after i got some axle work done

What is this “switch” you are discussing?

And why dont you head back to the guy who did this alteration?

its a bad idea to have such work done as it doesnt follow any specific criteria and is subjected to Ustaad quality control spec which can range from not giving a damn to not even answering questions.

The switch is the one shown in the scanner labelled "Power steering Switch". For more than a year it never showed on, it recently started turning on and off.
I cant go back to the guy because he is in multan and i am in islamabad. Would you happen to know any experienced power steering electrician in islamabad? Thank you for your response ️

That power steering “switch” is the factory hydraulic pump load switch, its probably disconnected and shorting to the engine block somewhere.

If you could point it out with a picture maybe i can fix it myself please. Yesterday i roamed aeound the whole islamabad but no one could even understand the issue. Wahi purana battery disconnect, auto choke adjust, radiator fan direct karne lag jate hai ln to get the rpm stabilised

It's located on the main power steering pump pressure line you will see a 2 wire sensor either the grip ( connector ) is disconnected or the switch is faulty get it checked and if needed replace it remember this is not a diy job so head straight to any efi electrition to do the job never attempt to dilo it yourself.

Someone has already installed “eps” on the car, the hyd pump is probably missing.
