Cultus 2008 khar Khar sound from engine

Khar khar sound is coming from engine when I increase acceleration /rpm .mechanic is saying it is coming from crank.
Can it be a timing belt issue?
There Is no water or oil loss.

is there a posiblty that this sound if of tappets? as i recently had tappet adjustedment
