Cultus 2009 EFI engine completely gone

Asalam Alikum,
We have got a Cultus 2009 EFI (I don't it is 2009 or 2010 because its registration says it's of 2010 but is lights look like of 2009). But as we have got this car from government from previous officer and they have used it very badly. They have even used it without engine oil. But we have spent around 60k till now and car is in still bad shape (mechanically).
Mechanic is saying of changing the whole engine because car is giving too much dark black smoke and engine has got no power now.
We are very low on budget and want suggestions what to do now.

Well, sometimes it is better to replace the whole thing with a new one, than to make the current one work. If engine condition is too bad, then you should change the engine completely. Otherwise, you'll just keep on spending money and won't get any results at all. Even if you get some results, it will fail again soon enough.

Even in case of changing the whole engine, make sure that the new engine is perfect in every aspect before installation.

Also check with multiple mechanics and see what most of them say. I guess 4-5 different mechanics will be enough!

Cultus EFI engine is I guess expensive, around 1 lac when I checked the last time. Perhaps 1 year ago. You can also put G13 (1300cc - Around PKR 25,000 to 35000), G15 (1500cc - around PKR 60000 to 75000) or G16 (1600cc - around PKR 60000 to 75000) engines in it. These are bolt on fit and do not require any considerable modifications I guess.

But can G13 perform same as orignal engine in terms of power, speed and fuel efficiency? And is margalla engine is EFI or carburetor?

He is most probably talking about G13 that came with baleno that engine is EFI.
The engine would be bolt on but brakes might need some upgrade and some suspension mods to keep the car strong. To overcome the extra forces exerted by the engine.

Thick black smoke is not a sign of engine blown out. It reflects rich mixture.
As someone pointed out, get it checked by some other mechanic

Power and Speed will be much better as it is 83 horse power. Cultus efi is 62 horsepower... Fuel Efficiency will be lower. And I was talking about G13 engine of Baleno, which is efi.

Sir any estimate how much it will cost totally and donwe have to modify brakes as said above

It depends on how much you can get for your current engine. But it is better that you visit the Market and get estimates from around 4-5 shops. As far as brakes are concerned, upgrade is only required if you are going to push your car to much higher speeds, wanna do dragging, racing, extreme acceleration, etc within city or on highways. Otherwise, if you are going to drive it normally like ordinary cultus, then the old ones are also okay I think.

Still it is better that you visit the marked and check prices from multiple shops. If possible, try to get estimates for a complete swap including each and everything, otherwise getting each thing done individually may cost you higher, most probably!

Before going to replace an engine do perform Compression test of both Dry and Wet test in your current existing engine to check the health of an engine.
