Cultus 2014, Dipstick@Middle, 1st oil change at 2600KM?

In about 7 months i have only traveled around 2600+ KM's. The owner manual says to change oil/filter at 5000KM. But yesterday i checked the dipstick and the oil level was exactly at middle. Now should i get the oil changed or add or just wait a few hundred km more?

Sir, according to the latest oil vows, the max. life tenor for engine oil is 6 months. Either the car is driven less or even very less.
Hence firstly its recommended to change the engine oil instead of driving it more.

If the dip stick above than min. level, it means ok.
But after you change the oil, then better to look at the dip stick and keep checking it with an interval of few days.

who said if the oil is above than min its ok ????? its not ok dude. you should top up the oil till the specified level.

@tintin1 : the max level means - This the point where the oil should be (Normal Level), above that not good.
Min level means - The Oil is lower than the recommended level - Pour more oil.

And if the oil level is in between the max. & min. level, then engine still has enough oil to lubricate its parts.
It can be alarming if the level goes down the min. level mark.

Agree. But in the middle is also alarming, a lil below the max can work

Car has travelled only 2600 km. OP make sure that oil was filled at Max level at first place, if he is sure that it was, and in 7 months and after 2600km it has dropped down to middle. Than it a matter to worry about.

@omar4490 , thanks but how do i make sure of that. I bought it brand new back in May.
@tintin1, i didn't even think about 6 months rule. I googled it and opinions are divided. Most says to change it after 6 months but some says it doesn't matter.

NOW what oil should i get, again the manual suggest to use suzuki 10w/40 api sg or sm. and what is synthetic and non-synthetic. sorry, total noob here......
