On any hot and humid day drive your car to a good car ac mechanic and ask him to check system pressure values, both low and high side. Raise your car rpm where you suspect the ac compressor trips and note the values.
Your car may have extra referigerant in the system and that might too be adulterated with a muxture of air.
There is a safety switch in the car ac system which monitors the high side pressure and if it tries to exceed a certain value, it trips the compressor to avoid any possible damage.
Secondly, also check compressor pully air gap if it is more than the specified value it will not be able to remain engaged especially at high engine's rpm and thus compressor's internals will not rorate thereby giving no cooling output.
