Cultus AGS Gear Not Shifting Above Second

It is not going above 2nd gear and keeps on shifting between first and second gear only. Then I have to switch to manual mode to complete the journey.
Also when i shift the gear without pressing the break it dose not give the error
also when i put it in manual and shift and release the break without giving and acceleration. It dose not move forward at all like it used to do.

I fixed the issue.

It is a fault with the break switch. I tested it and this issues is only caused by the break switch and the carbon in it.

How much mileage and when did younchange oil

visit a workshop which can scan your PKDM Cultus. Do the repairs as per repair code with oem parts only.

i did in 6 months or 5000 KM or less .all as per the company told me

i did and they were not helpfull, changed me 4000 rs for checking and then said they did not find any issue.

Can you remember the last thing you did before this issue started appearing?

9600 KM about 4 years

No i did not pressure wash it. i always took it to the professional car wash and this issue comes and goes randomly. Seems like a TCM problem, can any one tell me where can i buy a new TCM as suzuki say they dont have it or even if they have it they wont sell it to me. they are looting us

To me, it looks like a wiring or sensor issue. The actuator assembly seems fine because you are able to shift the gear manually.

I think dealership won't fix wiring or sensor issues. They will replace the whole actuator. Try to find someone in the market who can fix AGS units.

some people said to change the AGS oil with the addinol oil but the car mileage is only 9600 km.
Also some people said we cant change it as its not supposed to be mixed with any other oil and it would ruin the AGS system if i changed it without flushing it.
Furthermore i visited many others in the market and everyone said something different. No honest person in the market. even suzuki said they wont touch the AGS only change it. those people are looting us left right and center.

That Addinol AHF 22 S is a replacement for actuator fluid. I created a thread for this on PakWheels. It should be changed after 5 years irrespective of the mileage.

But I don't think actuator fluid change will solve this issue.

I changed it a couple of months back without flushing. It's still running smoothly with no issues. Addinol bottle comes in 1 liter packing. Only 400 ml is used. If you are concerned with mixing, you can change it again after running 500 km.

Keep this in mind, dealerships never repair new transmissions like AGS, CVT, or DCT. They only replace it. They are not trained for this and instructed by the company to only replace it. This is common practice around the globe. Even in India, only AGS replacement is offered in case of issues like these. So keep the dealership option as last resort.

There are people in the market who know how to open and repair AGS actuator unit. As an example this person seems to have good knowledge of AGS transmissions. I found him on YouTube

I just talked with this person about your issue and told him some friend's car is having the issue of gear not changing after 2nd. He said he had solved similar cases in the past. But he will only fix the transmission if the actuator unit is not opened by anyone else (I hope you didn't let anyone open it).

I think you are from Lahore. This Sohail mechanic is in Vehari (near Multan). He may insist you to come to him but try to talk to him, maybe he could give you a clue what's going on with the actuator. Or see if he can refer to anyone in Lahore?

BTW he gave minimum estimate of Rs. 25,000 ~ 30,000 for the repair. How much dealership asked for replacing the actuator unit? Or they want to replace the whole transmission?

changed the AGS oil just now. issue still there. discharged the old oil fully but still not fixed and i am now very frustrated as if the ags is opened and not fixed the right way or even handled badly or just some part break by mistake. it has to be then fully replaced as its cost is 9 lakh rs. i cant afford it. i want to do burn a Suzuki show rooms down i am so angry right now

^ I already mentioned this. You shouldn't have changed the actuator fluid right now. Instead, try to get the root cause fixed as mentioned in my previous post.

How to merge.

We used launch scan too. it costs 90000 rs. we spent alot of time to diagnose it but did not find anything. by we i mean the workshop person

You can call or Whatsapp him at 0333-2135599, his workshop is in Faisalabad.

He also repairs the faulty AGS units, also he has facility to send his mechanic or technician to your place for fitting it(Of course, he will charge transportation) or you can also send your car to his workshop for proper diagnosis.

someone else also gave me his contact. i have contacted them also. good person . i will algin my time with them. i just came back from a trusted workshop and they told me its a 1500 rs fix. next time when the issue comes they told me to check break lights. if the break lights are direct. it means the break wires are short and are causing this issue
