Cultus AGS heat up issue in traffic

Hello I recently bought an used Cultus AGS 2019 model car (30k km done) from Suzuki certified car.

While driving in traffic (bumper to bumper) in the summer heat of Karachi, the gear light in the dashboard starts blinking after 15-20mints. It didn't happen in the winter but now its a constant problem.

As soon as the traffic clears, I have space to move the car, the light stop blinking and I assume that its now cooling down.

What is the this issue? I heard that its a known issue and only happens with Gear heats up in traffic.
Can't Suzuki fix it?

Some people told me that this AGS Gear issue will always happen in the bumper to bumper traffic and AGS is not built for bumper to bumper traffic.. Is Suzuki really selling such a big deficit for such prices?

Can anyone let know the solution to this problem?

i think the car would still be under warranty, get suzuki check it first get their estimate (which would be ridiculous of course but still ... )
i have also heard this issue appeared in some faulty units of AGS .. : (

suzuki certified cars have 1 year warranty. So you can go to them if any problems comes.

They mentioned to me earlier that warranty is only for suspension and engine.. no mention of gear

it does not happen in every cultus, as few of the owners were claiming such fault in their cultuses; however, to better understand , try it in manual mode in traffic jam to see if the issue still persists or not ? and take it to Suzuki to get their opinion about it.

this can't be... engine suspension and gear all fall under warranty items

You can check it by turning off the AC If it still happen then shift the into neutral gear or try the manual shifting in traffic with AC off. This will show the problem either the AC is creating problem or the radiator cooling system of transmission

I’veAGS 28k driven. Never saw that light so far alhumdulilah.
Got stuck couple of times on 14aug/23mrch for 20-25 minutes in evening with AC On.

I usually put in natural when standing on signal or stuck in traffic longer

Suzuki motors told me due to the stoppage of airflow and there is no way they can fix it. What a horrible design for the car.

i don't understand, you mean that the manual transmission also heats up in stop and go traffic?

stoppage of airflow, doesn't make much sense..

i am thinking it has something to do with transmission fluid, maybe suzuki is pouring in the wrong transmission fluid for this gearbox ?

As per other people, while in traffic and without airflow, the gear box becomes a hotspot for the car.

I have experienced it myself for example, when i am in bumper to bumper traffic for 20-30mints, the gear light starts to blink and as soon as I clear the traffic and speed up the car, in 1-2 mints, the blinking gear light goes away. That signals, the airflow theory to have some merits. I chatted with Suzuki about it and they told me, to stop the car for a 4-5mints, let it cool down and start it again. These are the words of their team

I will ask them about the transmission fluid but they told me that it will change AFTER 60,000 km not now.

Majority of the cars sold in certified suzuki car gala are pathetic as they are tagged with certified suzuki car but in reality you have to do all the maintenance by yourself. take example of suzuki certified cars, majority of them are sold with water instead of coolant.

So this might be an issue which they dont want to address. AGS maybe new for this country but as far as Suzuki cultus is concerned, airflow wali baat per to suzuki walo k kaan k neechey ik chant lagana chahye

Yeah its such a big design flow in cultus AGS. They should not be selling the car until or unless there is a major design change.

Yes its like its not a car.. its a headache... if you are in traffic.. dua karay jaldi khatam hojaye warna that blinking doesnt stop until you clear the traffic.

Can’t comment on cultus ags but i have alto ags (theoretically both are same thing) so i have not faced this issue in regular traffic but once during last monsoon in karachi during traffic jam when there were urban floods and the car was in about a foot of water i was using the brake and accelerator simultaneously to not let the car die this light did pop up which signified transmission was overheating but never again after that.. If it is popping up regularly might be some issue in transmission and suzuki should fix it under warranty.

As this car is basically manual transmission which is made automatic by installing ags device, so for this you have to neutral you gear whenever you are in traffic because it takes stress in driving gear while traffic and this ags variant Don't have radiator cooler lines just as normal automatic transmission. That is why they become hot and blink the gear light. So avoid this habbit to safe your gear and always use neutral gear in idle standing position of the car either in traffic or waiting outside of your house for your family to sit in

sad to hear but the moment they launch the AGS i know its gonna happen here looking at traffic condition and environment and weather...

they just make its outer shell the heatsink w.o designing any cooling system....so basically you are heating it more when you are holding it just like auto on traffic signal......i wont even feel comfortable driving one bcz i never knew when its gonna break down due to overheating or burn the clutch ....
