Cultus Camber

yesterday i took my car for alignment the mechanic said after checking that the alignment is alright but the camber is out, he said your car wont grip if you are on high way and it will effect your tyres...

i told him that i dont feel a problem and i used to drive a lot on motor way 110-120 and to murree not even a single time i feel my car is sliding.

i was worried i told him to fix it but he said if you are not facing any problem on highway then better leave it cause it has made its position and if we are going to fix it it will move and then it might give you problem...

and i am really confused what to do... i have 13 inches alloy rims installed and michelin tyres :S

There is a better alignment place Turbo Motors at Queens Road behind Ali Jan Motors on Golding / Mason Road, Lahore. They are experts in Alignment and Suspension related problems including Camber / Caster. Have your Car checked by them usually they ask for Rs.1200 for 2 cambers n Rs. 150 alignment but you can make a deal for Rs.1000.- for this job if u insist. I have got my car checked and maintained by them to my satisfaction. They do have High Speed Wheel Balancing Equipment if your car wobbles. good luck

Once an alignment center person told me that ur CULTUS Camber is weak and suggested me that never cross speed breakers on high speed.

Hi,
Avoid driving your car with camber problem on highways, although it may not have significant effect on grip and stability but it increases tire wear from one side which will shorten life of tires. The increase of tire wear is directly related to camber angle.

The last point is valid as well if your tires are already worn out from side than fixing the camber angle may cause noise or instability .....

Lastly if you are planning to install new tires than surely get the camber issue solved.

Just an advise, either get your wheel aligned from laser alignment or use the old school feeta (twine) alignment system.

Dont go to those computerised alignment system.

The reason, I insist on this is, we in PK, people buy things and use it till it dies, there is no planned maintenance or calibration regime. Therefore, these COMPUTERISED machines never got calibrated in their life though its recommended that these calibration equipment should be calibrated atleast once a year.

Once I asked a computerised wheel alignment and balancing guy that when was the last time you got your equipment calibrated, he goes "what is calibration".
