Hi I have bought a car 1st time so my post is going to be longgg My car is Cultus 2015 EFI. Few days back during the drive, the accelerator got stuck and needed more force than usual to operate. Also the engine rpm was not steady, it was fluctuating during the drive as well as on idle condition (idle rpm 1000-2000 fluctuating previously it was not like this). I went to the mechanic who is known for EFI maintenance, he suggested tunning and without informing opened the tappets which were never opened before. Now the accelerator problem is better not ok and additional problem is knocking. Mechanic says the tappets were too tight and now as they are loosened that's why it's knocking. The statement is unsatisfactory, anyone can help out me on this?
Adjust tappets to oem specs. Sticking accelerator can be cause by simple accelerator cable while rpm fluctuation can be caused by any sensor malfunction.
Did your mechanic clean the throttle body?
Tappets should be re adjusted back to original asap. Check pedal linkage
seems like the throttle cable is bad and the mechanic has loosened the tappets beyond normal range. he might have messed with distributor also
We have stupid and idiot mechanics I have encountered one who said sir thanday ka .08inch or garam ka .09inch best hota hay and other said thanday or garam ka same hona chahiye jo kay .16mm hay or best performance dey gi gari. And I was just laughing and also asked do you adjust on cold engine or hot he said sir issey itna farq nahi parta. That's the situation of our mechanics.
Ok thanks I'll visit Suzuki
Exactly, the mechanic I visited said Bhai 1000 km chlai normal ho jaye ga.
