i am double minded about t-stat,, i know its necessory but i am afraid due to my prv experiance,, and mechanics also advised not to use t stat, because build quality of g10 do support t-stat,,it blows gasket due to slight heatup,, can u plz clear my doubts?
just wanted to share with members this event because when i was searching for engine replacement i could not find any new topic
so sharing here if any one need
i have been using tap water in my radiator since i bought the car(almost 4 and half years).. its head gasket blew multiple times but i didn't bother and kept using water so as a result, block rusted from sides.
it was a kind of dissappointment when i was told that i had to change the engine just because of that rusted block, because it was runing fine and it never reduced oil...
i live near lalamusa, gujrat so i had options to go bilal gunj lahore or rwp, in decided to go lahore with my mechanic
i was just amazed to see the market, inquired from 3-4 shops, there were two types of engines according to them, australian or singa poori which they quoted 40-46k and japani one which were being quoted 50-60k,,,so after checking multiple engines, my mechanic did not seem happy, then atlast shop keeper showed us another engine which was lying upstairs, my mechanic liked it in a first sight, then he thoroughly checked it and told me that it was a suchaa piece.
shop keeper told asking price is 60k but due to ref of my mechanic, he quoted us 50k final, but thumbs up to my mechanic, who have got un beleiveable negotiation skills. he made the deal for 42k, we have been given one week guarantee.
so i would like to advise noobs like me that never visit there without expert mechanic, unless u have got loads of money

engine assembly 42 k
labour charges 3 k
generator replacement 1500 ( prev generator was altered so it was not well aligned)
engine oil 2000
frieght charges from shop to work shop 300
petrol for cleaning 200
mine total expense is almost 55k
