If the water is moving then it probably means your water pump is ok and possibly your radiator is ok too. A compression check can be done next to check if there is any loss of pressure in each cylinder. I had my car's compression checked at a fellow Pakwheeler's workshop somewhere in Nazimabad. My compression check was perfect which indicated that cylinders and gasket were ok. You may try that next and would need to go to a workshop which has this equipment. This test takes max 15 minutes and each cylinder is checked. If any leakage means your gasket is possibly leaking and would need to be changed.

I am not sure if my mechanics are well equipped. Nazimabad would be far to reach. However, one of 3s motor is in my reach. So I could visit there for compression test. Meanwhile can u give a parameters of compression test? Whether gasket is blown, this result tells the whole story?

I am sure most mechanics would not have this equipment. Parameters I am not sure about. All I did was attach the compression equipment and crank engine once. The pressure did not drop in any cylinder which proved gasket ok. I am sure an experienced mechanic would know how to check all symptoms of a blown gasket without using compression check equipment. 3S are usually a rip off and i do not recommend to visit them. I would suggest that you browse Pakwheels as there is a thread about good mechanics in all cities of Pakistan. Hope your issue is resolved quickly.

Dear brothers
For the past couple of weeks I had faced multiple issues in my car and gradually solved one by one. After carburetor service I still had a very bad fuel consumption, missing engine, water reducing and oil seepage. Also heat up.

After showing these issues to mechanic he said there is a water(nami) in 1 spark plug (out of 3) which cause missing. It seems that it could be a gaskit issue and also need to open an engine to check if there is any water leaks in cylinders

If the matter solved by changing gaskit then it would cost 5500/- and if go to open an engine then it would cost around 25k and take 3-4 days.

This will help to overcome the issue of bad fuel consumption, missing heat up and water reducing.

I checked with 2 mechanics and both are saying for gaskit issue.

Just to keep in mind, my car is 06 VXR carb and there is no dark smoke issue, No oil reduction and alhamdolillah water dropping engine.

I need your suggestion before taking any final decision. is it look like a gaskit issue or need to open an engine.

Is there any short cut to solve the issue? You expert opinion will help to solve these issues.

1. Open engine oil cap and see the color of oil. If it is milky white then surely it's gasket issue.
2. Open radiator cap (when engine is cold) if you find oil floating on top of water, it's again confirms the blown gasket.
3. If yours car is throwing water from exhaust again confirms blown gasket.
   Don't panic . Tow your car(don't drive) to good mechanic. He will charge 1500 Labour for gasket replacement. Make sure you face the head. Your mechanic would also see number of other things like cracked pipes. Water body etc. Follow his advise.

yes I found yellowish inside engine cap.

Radiator throwing out water once race given after start.

tow is necessary if mechanic is at near distance of 1km.

It's sure now.. you have blown gasket. Towing is suggested to save engine from further damage

I suspect a bad gasket...its not always necessary that oil and water gets mixed in gasket issue but there can be many other ways too a gasket can go bad or weak.. Its not an issue at all as its a carby cultus and can be tackled very easily by any mechanic. Go for gasket change but keep the following in mind:

1. See condition of head once its open. Most of thr time it needs facing (to even the surface) so that the new gasket fits perfectly between the head and enginr block. Usually a thicker gasket will be used now as engkne is old and will probably be needing a head facing so a bit of metal scratched out..but this is known once all is dismantled

2.change water pump as it will be taken out too. It will be weak too probably. Go for GMB japani pump and DONT GO FOR CHINESE OR LAHORI (RAVI COMPANY) PUMPS.

3.change all belts as they will be out too

4.change plugs

5.use a sasta oil to run for 500-600 km only and drain it out to fill in the good regular oil.

For anything further you can always ask

As per all the discussion i concluded your issue to be of gasket...and since yr engine is never opened so its highly possible that gasket could be weak...so go for it..

Use PSO Premium motor oil which is 860 for 4 liters...flush it after 1k km..

Gasket is situated between the engine head and engine block. It contains small holes for flow of coolant and oil seprately. Once its blown/weak, these holes combines making coolant and oil to mix resulting in engine going mad. Jahan sirf oil jana chahye wahan coolant bhi jata hai and vice versa. So consider the impact yourself. If mechanic is not too far take the car..I am attaching some pics of my Liana's gasket issue and water pump replacement. See the blown gasket+new installed water pump +bad rusted water pump

my mechanic is not so far he is at a distance of 1 km.

I did market search and Guide brand is good. Rs350/- for thin one and Rs400/- for thick one.

One thing more is water pump should be changed as I see water flowing properly in radiator not stagnant.

I am planning to leave car at workshop in the morning hours and will get back in the evening. I think I should be a 10 hours job.

I would suggest to change the 'timing belt' too as it is to be changed every 70-80k kms for cultus and should be worn out too..

Buy gasket once all is open and its clear you want thick or thin (depends on if head is to be faced)

Head's surface and engine block's surface should be fully even for gasket to fit in between without even a mm of difference. With use, and gasket failures the head's surface goes uneven due to excessive heat and corrosion..so the uneven part of metal is to be chipped off to make surface even

Ah now I got it.
So does this job take time? Mechanics do at their workshop? This will cost extra labor?

The whole process takes a day or what?

Machinist do this work not the mechanic. He will take the head to mechinist in Rickshaw 60% engine is usually dismantled in gasket change. One full day tou pakka hai
