Cultus New Driver Questions

Hi everyone,

I bought a 2007 Cultus VXRi just last week. Its my first car and I have zero experience with owning a car so I was hoping you guys can guide me about the do's and don'ts of having it. Also I have some newbie questions, I apologize if they have very obvious answers.

My questions are these:

1. Whats the security precautions, what can I do to decrease the chances of my car getting stolen? I have bought a hockey lock from market and am using it in tandem with the car's builtin locks. Is it enough?
2. I am running it on patrol, I want to avoid CNG even though there is company fitted CNG kit installed. I am told that removing the CNG tank will increase milage etc (less weight) but if i get the housing for it removed as well then it will lower the value of my car. Is it true?
3. I am driving in Lahore and with AC on I am still sweating a lot. I mean AC is doing cooling but it doesn't feel much. Is this normal for cultus or should I get my AC checked?
4. On medium revs (throttle not fully floored) I get like 80-100 km/h speed on 5th gear with AC on. I am not pushing the car too much though. Is this speed normal? Because I see a lot of cars going faster and overtaking me.
5. How do I turn on the hazard lights? Where is the switch for that?
6. What are the things I need to take care of in terms of normal maintenance? Considering that I drive roughly 60 KMs everyday.

Congratulations
1. Remove central locking, if any. they are easy to bypass for thieves. Hockey lock which you have bought already.
2. Run it on petrol. Don't use on CNG. takeout cylinder, but dont sell it. Keep it with you and install on car when you sell the car.
3. For driver, it should cool properly without sweating. get it serviced.
4. Speed is normal. you can accelerate it further + gear shift on higher rpm to get more speed. 100 is fine though
5. Its red button above car's steering

Since you bought used, get it thoroughly checked through good mech or 3s. and replace all oils+ filters. change mobil oil at 3months or 3000km whichever is earlier. use thinner oils 10w40.

3: It's definitely something wrong with AC Cultus AC is good enough to keep the front passenger's cool.

4: It's absolutely all right cultus does 120km/h at 3.8-4k rpm no need to worry about that.

6: Keeping in view you got it used so get all the fluids checked and as it's a efi engine use some good 10w40 or 15w40 oil grade with maximum api rating of SG, SJ.
Get its gear oil changed pour in ZIC gear FF 75w85 approx 2.5 liter is the capacity i think.
Check the condition of brake oil and change or level it if required. Also get the brake pads inspected.
Check for the condition of all the rubber hoses fuel/cooling system and change the required hoses.
Pour in some good quality coolant.
You are good to go...

Thanks a lot guys for the detailed replies. Will be getting my AC serviced with the rest of the maintenance stuff (oils, filters etc) done as well.
