Cultus rough idle and smell from exhaust after changing pcv

I today noticed that the pcv valve's top nozzle was broken. I just bought a new valve and replaced it by removing air filter cover and after fixing it and connecting filter cover again I started car but strangly it wasn't starting. After some tries it started but start was rough with smell from the cylincer and rpm going up and down. I checked all vaccum pipes were connected. What could have caused this problem? It's cultus carby.

Update : issue resolved. The broken piece of previous pcv valve was stuck inside the pipe that is why air flow issue was causing this issue. Removed the piece and problem gone.

Check the pcv installed again.

If you have bought chinese pcv in 200-250rs check its direction of air flow it should be from top to down, if not return it and replace it with genuine part costing 1000-1200 from a reputable shop.

Update : issue resolved. The broken piece of previous pcv valve was stuck inside the pipe that is why air flow issue was causing this issue. Removed the piece and problem gone.

I think pcv valve direction of flow is bottom to top.

No its from top to bottom in the dorection in which it is fit in cultus carburetor, means from air intake/crankcase towards intake manifold...so all the gases produced goes from crankcase towards intake manifold and burns again.
