thanks kizzi for the suggestions... still havent decided as we might be expecting rainfalls here so im not too sure if its a good idea to beautify the car before the rainfalls or should i wait & get it done after August.. the estimate of shower (which i was given) for a non baked paint was 18000/- while my regular denter (who has already done some denting on my car back in 2007) has given me an estimate of 35000/- for a full bake paint job including the new vxri style front & rear bumpers & grills. The paint difference is not much noticeable execpt for a few parts but i think its good to have various opinions before finalizing anything the pics posted here are already very recent but i will post pics of the affected areas soon..

@zahid.. Alhamdulillah not a single trouble yet.. as i said its a daily runner and i cannot even think of a day when this car doesn't run on roads.. only routine oil & filters change & battery water inspection thats it..

thankyou.. it was also taken good care by its first owner & now i am taking its utmost care.. normally when you buy a used car you have to be ready to spend few thousand rupees for those unexpected things which you might discover after purchasing the car.. while when i was purchasing this one, its first owner assured me that "garee mein aik pesay ka bhee kaam nahee hay"... and it proved to be very very true... there is a light in the little drawer right above the cup holder, when u open it at night the bulb lightens up, even that is fully functional.. for me it was just like taking away a brand new vehicle.. the first thing which i got fixed was a ball joint & that too after nearly 10 months of daily driving (almost 80km/ day)

Impressive; you were lucky enough and expert too, to find such a nice car. normally its very difficult to find a used car in this condition as for me its always a loss.

this morning while going to office a white Xli got bumped into my back on a red signal.. the guy (seemed to be an office executive) was courteous enough to apologize.. thankfully there was not much damage to the rear bumper, as if it bumped in & popped out by itself during the impact.. however there are a few scratches on the bumper and some paint chipped off.. although the way the Xli hit me i assumed that the bumper would have been damaged but surprisingly apart from scratches there wasnt much damage to both the cars.. so it ended quite peacefully but my car's rear bumper paint has suffered :S

sorry i could not update this thread as my dsl connection at home was out of order.. as requested by kizzi, i am now updating with the recent pix of my ride, the color fading problem & a misshap caused by xli last week can be witnessed in these pix.

the change of color may not be much evident in the first pics but if u watch carefully you wil find a slight difference of shade in front fender and door.

this is the most affected area...

this was the damage to the rear bumper by the xli... the white horizontal marks are also visible...

despite this the color is still quite shiny, the damage is what i can live with as driving daily in Karachi without getting your car hit would be a miracle i think it would be good to wait for a complete repaint.. however rubbing can be considered.. what do u say?

no plans to sell it off.. we are family of people who keep cars for long. there are many cars which are with us (including relatives) for more than 20 year now & still as good as new.. i have no fear to keep it for a longer time also

I wouldn't advise to go for the re-paint just now.
