Please see snapshot #3 here. The post is unrelated to your query but all the relevant pages of the owner's manual are there. The dealer guys must have some imported service manual not applicable to local products.

Hypothesis: Maybe G10B shares engine block with Baleno. This would mean it has different ignition system (Baleno has waste-spark with double coil) but block & head similar to Baleno. The displacement has been lessened by using longer connecting rods. This could also mean once you're in for an engine rebuild, use Baleno parts and get 1300cc?
Or another option: The 16-valve head could be interchangeable with Margalla. So 8-valve Margalla users could buy a newer head or one from shershah for instant power increase? I'll work on it. End of hypothesis.

Regarding the 993cc, bore is 72mm and stroke is 61 mm (mmmmm, over-square). Now let's solve a numerical:

Cylinder volume = pi*r^2*l = pi*(half-bore)^2*stroke = 22/7*(3.6cm)^2*6.1cm = 248.462 cc

Multiply by 4 for 4 cylinders> 4*248.462 = 993.847 cc

So the displacement is true also. (I made all this effort because there are many inconsistencies in the manual).

Also, Wikipedia also has a paragraph on G10B now. Only difference from my info is that it mentions an 8-valve cylinder head.

Thanks a Bundle Ahsan, that's a really great reply, one of my coleage also said that they have actually modified the Baleno's Engine to make it 1000cc.
And your calculations also proves it'sa 1000(i.e. 993) cc, this must be right....

^^^ and this is the Reason I love cultus very economical is all aspects, tough I run on petrol but its apeace of mind.

In rupees 200 from Korangi to Saddar on the way back visit to defence market with A/C. and I feel there still lil petrol left --- LOL.

@Usman: can you help me finding a good mechanic for tunning since I bought it got the plugs changed once, still have those HERO plugs which come factory fitted, the car runs perfect, but its a while now I think I should have the plugs changed.

BTW: I change the Fuel Filter by my self every 90days.

^^^ This car is financed from UBL in Aug 2006 on 7 years plan, the price was 560K paid 145K as down payment and 45K Own + 5K for the metalic colour.

My company helps me paying half of the installment every month. (now I realize this is a trap employers use to retain their employees)

@Usman: I got rid of the Factory fitted car tape few days back, I told one of my relatives in Sharjha to send me a good car tape, just look this what he sent I asked the shop wala for how much this one (gifted one) costs he said no body buys such tape hardly 1500 or spp, dangg I was like ewwwwww. ehsannn lay liya free main.....

Still had no choice have to go on with this one.....as I am not a fan of stereo just like a simple radio or few CD's cassetes of Bryn Adams, Strings and cold play. So this Black Box works for me.

Also have installed front speakers for Rupees 400 and sound is good I like it, after installing tis Black Box the sound quality have improved it can play cassete CD (plain Audio only) and Radio -- bohat kharcha ker diya is mehnay -- LOL

my power windows were giving me hard time so i went to auto electrician and here the rip off story starts , he goes like oh well motors weak haen and i was like fine relay laga do , now he was like a bit careful cos he knows i have some idea what i am talking about and he says oh switch bhe kharab lagrahe haen and i was like switch kharab hote tu yea chalte he nahi and he was like oh acha , i said to him open the damn thing u will know what exactly wrong with it and he starts his work , the muppet puts relays with out checking the motors and than open the master console which should be other way round and i was watching all the sabar se than he shows me oh sir ye tu burn hua he , i was like bhai its black and it cos of pressure either u are stupid or u think i am blonde and he was like ok me ye aur open karta hoon after spending five minute he said its fine now i was watching it he has done nothing but just cleaning it after that he said its all fine now , he put all things back and dang the power windows were fine i said to him why u put relays when every thing was fine the switches needs cleaning and he was like nah motor bhe weak theen and i said oh acha never mind and i ask how much u want for this job and he said 1000 rupees ke 4 relays and i said what the hell he said sir achi walee relay haen and than 500 hundread for all his work and cleaning so in the end he comes up with 1500 bill so cleaning of switch cost me 1500 rupees what a rip off moral of the story u cant win with these morons either way .
