Did the cable break from meter's side or gear box side?

Probably the replacement cable you installed was of the cheap quality, try getting a better quality cable (it will cost around 500 or 600). If you'd installed a better cable then probably your gear box is the issue (provided meter is fine)
Third possibility is problematic meter (since its purely mechanical arrangement)

fezan.x brother i bought genuine coure cable, it costs 450+200 labour charges, local made was around 200...i think, not sure it might broke from gearbox side...
is there any problem with the needle or the mechanism behind that???it is really teasing for the last 3,4 months, pehlay bulbs fuse ho gayeinko change krwaya tou wo jalnay bujhnay lagay, then i fixed them with elfy ,,...should i go for mira meter with RPM or just change the meter??? kindly suggest me,,,,thanx

You need to ensure if the problem is in meter or gearbox. Changing the meter while gearbox is faulty wont be helpful. Get your meter checked from the meter mechanic. If he says meter is faulty then go for Mira meter.
On the gearbox side, there is a small plastic gear (where cable is connected) which gets wear and tear due to usage. Ask your mechanic to check that too.If it is the culprit. Change it.

One question, was your meter running smoothly or there were jerks in the needle. (smooth meter needle means input is fine)

as far as i remember 2.5 to 3 is price of clean mira rpm meter.

as far as i remember 2.5 to 3 is price of clean mira rpm meter.

Top of the line Mira meter should cost around 3.5k. Normal one should be 2.5k
Check mine in previous posts ,blue shade with glowing lights it was 3.5
