Custom Duty for Car Parts from Germany to Pakistan

Hay Everyone, I hope someone can help me out with this. I have a parcel box 120x60x60 (DHL Standard Size of 31.5 Kg) with car parts for my car that I will be soon shipping from Germany to Pakistan. This is not a commercial sale and is for my personal vehicle. The box will be sent via Deutsche Post / DHL insured.

My question is, will I have to pay any custom duty on the items? Is there anything that should be mentioned or labelled on the box so as to make sure no customs is paid? I heard from someone that no customs is paid on car parts especially if it for personal use. All the parts are small items with no major / heavy equipment.

I would really appreciate any input regarding this.

If it is via DHL confirm custom duty.
Customs will impose duty, doesn't matter actual or bogus.

DHL will ask you for that money and they will not hand over the parcel without that custom duty.
You cannot intervene and directly get it delivered to you since DHL k through a rahi hai.

The max you can do is make sure custom duty is accurate and fight with customs if it is not and pay that amount to DHL who will pay to customs and get it released.

Last time they even charged a hefty custom duty on a sdcard from japan. Custom duty for parcels through DHL is very very high, try to somehow route it so that Pak Post handles it or use some other cargo service.

Dhl are class A level idiots in Pakistan,

I have lost haltech ecus, lots of german car parts due to this. And then our lovely customs officers are illiterate sifarishi jackasses too.

They literally said to my face that a set of shims for a bmw diff cannot be 1 euro a piece as they are genuine bmw parts.

I showed them the catalog price which was met with, we in customs believe that consignee and recipient both are lying at any time.

Dont know about now, but i dont have high hopes that they hire educated people now.

What you can do is to contact DHL and stop them dealing customs on your behalf. You will then have to deal with them youself. i dont know if a dry port transfer is possible with DHL but its possible with ems

EMS links to Deutsche Post which use DHL for shipping. So I figured it would be best to send it via a private cargo service. I found one that has been used by a few friends here in Germany sending items to Pakistan. Was quoted 2.5 Euros for 1kg and they said clearing customs is their job so it should not be a problem. Fingers crossed, Hope it goes well
