Cvt gear issue and pick up problem

I bought a lancer 1.6 GLX SR and from the first day it was giving me problem in gear shifting in the beginning only N and D blinks i changed the shifter and issue solved than i went to northern areas my car was not able to move more than 20km/h and eventually car stops than i changed the whole transmission from pindi on the way back to lahore car again having jerks i checked through electrician there was pressure sensor fault i changed it and car becomes fine than after one week again car behave like old problem unable to move more than 20km/h than change the solenoid switches many times after changing switch car drive smooth like normal drive than one day same happened car even not able to move and than again i changed the transmission now it's only mild jerk on D and R but when car reach the speed of 60km/h pick up improve below 60 car run with load and still jerk only when press D or R once it starts moving no jerk observed i think it's a pure electrical fault but computer don't detect it kindly give me suggestions if someone faced this problem in past and share contact number of that mechanic who help to fix it and understand lancer well i lives in lahore thanks in advance my phone number 0300 9358045

I think you have gearbox heatup issues. Check your gearbox cooler. It might be clogged and that's y even after repairs issues arise.

This problem is a very known problem of auto and specially cvts . They are very sensitive to heat, when the oil temp rises the car goes into limp mode and that makes it stay around 20kmph etc

Most of the times the gearbox itself is not the problem but the cooling system is the culprit

Don't u think it's any electrical fault i changed the transmission recently where is cooler box located ?

from the bottom or front of the gear box, two hoses will go to the front or side, follow those hoses and they would end up either under your radiator or will end up at its on radiator/cooler. check if its going to a radiator/ cvt cooler and is not clamped shut or the coler box is not clogged.

use only the oil specidic for your gearbox. dont use "an expensive" oil, just use the specific oil listed by manufacturer, you put in any other oil and it will destroy your cvt no matter how expenbsive the oil is. Also DONT FLUSH THE CVT OIL ever yourself. just do drain and refil.

the gear oil is the most important thing for the functioning of a cvt, its not just for lubrication but is the one thing that makes the cvt pulleys variable size, if gear oil is too hot, the car gears will stick and even the belt will start slipping.

Contrasting with your statement, the factory service manual recommends flushing the cvt.

is that in the car manual or a service bulletin of manufacturer? Can you share that ? CVT flush will 100 percent do harm if not done at the factory, you need a lot of sensor data to make sure that what you did has not changed the gearbox mechanics.

This is from a chapter of the factory service manual. I have it for USA 2.0 and 2.4 lancer but many things are common. However, someone also shared a chapter of the CVT as well a few months ago. It's too big to upload here but here's a page from it. The complete manual is 5500+ pages and can be found in a separate Pakwheels thread named Dewan Lancer Manuals. Scans of owner's manual and service booklet + factory service manual are given there.

Yeh that's what I said, dnt flush CVT yourself.,

This is just replacement of CVT fluid.

CVT cooler can be flushed as it's a separate part and flushing it doesn't effect the CVT itself.

CVT flush or engine flush means flushing and clearing with high pressure water and than drying with compressed air pressure. That should not be done without proper equipment,

Any ways even dealerships dnt perform CVT flush often , you never know what's gonna be the outcome.

It has no good prognosis, and Should never be done without proper equipment. When ever anyone says that you should flush your CVT, ask them for an after service Warranty.

Flushing in car work never means rinsing with water. You always use a dedicated flushing agent or fresh fluid only depending on what you're flushing. In fact high pressure water should not be anywhere near the engine bay.

Also, this page does not show the process to flush just the transmission cooler but in fact the whole transmission as you're emptying out all the oil in steps.

As far as dealerships are concerned, they have no clue about what the factory manual says. A friend bought a zero meter Wagon R recently and its owner's manual recommends 0W-20 and the dealership offered 10W-40 oil in extended warranty package.

I'm not gonna argue over it, but you wanna flush a CVT with any delicate or something fluid go for it, it's NOT recommended by many manufacturers as it can cause belt slippage by removing the metallic shavings that appear because of normal friction between belt and pulley. If it's in your FSM than you need to check with your dealer as their would be a Newer service bulletin which would advice against it

That's a big topic but you can dig into it if you need.

For anyone who wants to flush their CVT, do it at your own risk. I have seen too many people with the earlier CVTs getting them flushed only to find that now the car doesn't come out of limp mode.

Be very particular with CVTs, keep their oils standard and cooling upto mark and they would run without issues, try anything fancy, it will ditch you like a MF.

Yes, I use oem oil only and flushing is also done only with oem oil.
