Cvt gear issue . seems like slipping

guys i have one steermatic 1.5 cvt 7 speed. few hours back i was coming back to home. when I press the accelerator hard for pickup the car stuck on 80 90 speed and getting jerks. i got smell of something burning too and car was jerking alot. i took to near by pump and check the bonut. no sign of fire or anything. then after few mins i drove again and getting slipping noise from tramission and feels like something is slipping inside and car is giving jerk in all speeds from 10 to 80 km.

please suggest i guess tramission got fried? or is it something else issue.? anyone can repair this transmission in Karachi?

or i need to replace it?

any idea for repairing cost or replacement cost ?

Connect a scanner to the car and see what are you seeing in starting clutch pressure and also rpm of the input shaft.

Do a smell test of the fluid, if its burnt, you may have more issues.

I don't think any one rebuild these. Time for a used one from junk yard.

Shersah I guess members from Khi can guide better. 2 or 3 years ago this gear was cheap around 15 to 20k not sure now. Get the one that support your 7 speed manual shifting mode and use new Honda CVT oil.

how old is the car with you and if there is any fluid change history available.

call up irshad ahmed 0300 223 7538. see if you can drive upto his place. he can connect scanner and pull data, he can also help you source a transmission with certain support of replacement in xx no of days if trouble surface. make sure that you ask irshad inform for fluid change in scrapyard transmission from the supplier.

There are crooks who sale reworked transmissions with 'unknown compounded fluid' to hide the noise / faults for few hundred kms. so when a buyer demand that fluid change will be done before actual swap in car crooked supplier will run away.

Guys Update

In Morning I Called every transmission guy and found one at PIB Colony near Jail Chowrangi, i Visited to him , His name is FARHAN AUTO GEAR WORKS shop near Jail Main Gate. He is brother of IMRAN GEAR WORKS Engineering at DAAK Khana.

He Drove my car and said the CVT Is fine and its engaging it and not Slipping, if its Slipping then it should Slip on Start , there is Problem with the Engine missing . He told me to go to Mechanic and Resolve the Engine missing issue 1st and Foundation issue Since there was vibration in the car too, Then i called to my Mechanic to check the missing, He checked and said the Coils are having issue.

Then after that i went to SHAFIQ MORE Market near Nagan, There is Auto work Shop Danish Autos, he have all Tramissions Engine and parts of this car. He chcked the missing and asked his guy to resolve it, They Checked the Coils one by one and out 4 COils 3 are Dead and SHAAT as per them.

So they Change the Coils put the new CITY Coils in it by granding some points of fitting and issue was Resolve. it was the COILS that Blast Last night on High RPMS or were already on last stage.
Total Costed me 6000 rs with Coil and Fitting

After that i have Driven 50 Kms no Jhatka nothing and Car gets smooth + Getting Feeling of good Fuel Milage.

i agree with you, I got the Rate of Tramission for this car cost around 30k from Shafiq More , 5 k would be labor and 7 k would be Oil and no gaurantee if that tranny is 100% fine or Faulty.

Same Farhan AUTO World told me that he need to change the tranny and not sure if that will be fine, he told me this Tramission cost would be around 42 with everything FItting labor and Tranny Cost.

He said these tramission used be to for 12 to 15 k 2 years back but now every tramission cost went up from PRosmetic to these CVTs.

Capsat i changed the CVT Fluid last month Hardly Driven 500 kms till now. I poured HONDA CVT F 3.5 Liters in it. Car is with me since last year

coils blast? -

never seen a coil explode, the smell you were smelling was probably partially burned fuel. btw, the reason the ignition coils fail is bad or worn out spark plugs. Make sure to replace the spark plugs too.

and its a terrible idea to install used ignition coils.

lol Coil Blast means COILS Shaat...

Yes maybe that Smell was for Fuel Burned , i agree.

I Put the new plugs few months back around 5 to 6 months back. I will check those plugs too.

I agree, If i would face any issue in this coils i would put the new one. I didnt know how much the new cost, these QABLI coils working fine till now since installation. i guess the new Coil cost 4 to 5k for each and this total coil set costed me 6k.

I never changed the Coils since i bought this car and dont know the last owner was using it like this . even the one coil break too and stuck in the Plug Cylinder.
