Cvt gear slipping

My 2008 daihatsu mira cvt transmission is slipping when the car engine is cold. Also, it usually slipping when the car is above 70km/hr and the gear slips to down gear and the rpm goes up. (Transmission fluid changed before 10k, km)

Problem lies within a cvt gear solenoid or a speed sensor. Get it scanned, if nothing shows up then reset the ecu completely. Did you change it's axles?

No brother, someone told me that it might be due to dirty cvt sump so need to clean that. And someone told me it is due to bad clutch plates I'm confused now.

CVT gearbox does not have clutch plates.

A slipping CVT might be due to dirty oil, incorrect grade of oil or a failing transmission.

Its usually a clogged high pressure valvebody and if neglected too long, the variator sheave bearings get wallowed out.

It has been fixed, just cleaned the cvt gear filter and it's all good now. It was too dirty btw

cleaned the filter? - it uses a cellulose filter, what did you clean it with?

Change it mate. There is no process of cleaning this filter. Do you clean engine oil filter too?

what i have seen for gear box mesh filter cleaning at a liaquatabad gear shop they hang the filter and hot water pressure gun used to clean it. they hang it in open air to dry.

at that time i was not sure what kind of gear box has such filters but now after reading sir @xulfiqar post it is very evident that it was from some cvt box. new price was quoted at Rs. 9000 china

Cvt gear does have a filter in which the gear oil circulates. The gear has been smooth now. They cleaned it with some liquid which they charged me 500 rps for that cleaner.

Your trans uses a cellulose media filter, once debris gets trapped in it it becomes scrap. replace with a new one. Same thing as you dont wash an engine oil filter and reuse it.

The gear has been smooth now.

Plan on to change this smooth gear within 50k kms.
By saving few thousands you will spend few lakhs only.
Can you remove a stain of tar from a white cotton cloth? There is no way and you will end up getting a new piece of cloth. Same goes with your filter, your mechanic must have washed with petrol and compressed air which would have opened way more openings in filter.
There is no washable OIL/FLUID filter in the world. Hope your transmission survives, but it will surely fail due to this jugaar. Save your original transmission as much as you can, so called kaabli transmission in the markets are mainly scrap, and they're being rebuilt by taking transmission parts from many different places.

You might not have come across this but Honda dealers (Honda Drive In) are now pushing a 3 month max engine oil change interval on fully synthetic oil and 'the filter can last upto 10k kms'. Nothing left to say tbh.

Many dealerships in Pakistan follow this practice.
They force you to change oil after 3 months for low mileage vehicles
