Just to update. I left the noise as is and car drove fine but noise seem to be increasing.
Today again went to another mechanic and he got both axle and wheel disc/bearing out and then we rev the car (on jack obviously).
There was no sound in N but in D mode it made the same sound. So I guess its the gearbox sound, confirmed. Probably a bearing noise in cvt. As there are no error codes for cvt on scanner. Checked it today.
Now for next step, I have visited couple of guys near islamia college who says they can repair the cvt, but there is no guarantee and it would cost like 20K minimum.
Second option is to replace the CVT and that would cost 50K minimum. Based on quote from 2-3 different places. Still have to visit shershah if I agree to this. I am very reluctant on both these options.
Third option is to let it be and drive. There are no issues with gear changing or fuel consumption. I get 500 km in full tank (30 ltr) with mostly sharaefaisal drive. Alhamdolillah.
So 1,2 or 3?
If 1 or 2, getting cvt out means opening up the engine. Which mechanic in Karachi is most suitable for this? Labour Cost? Precautions?
If 3, do you think there can be any harm to the engine or any other part (other than cvt)? Can CVT just malfunction while driving ? My survey with mechanics says 50-50. Half of them says no issue at all. Other half says engine can be damaged or that you may loose control of car while driving and what not.
Appreciate your response.
