Hello All,
I am new in owning cars and just bought vitz 6 months ago. I dont know much about cars so advance apology for amateur talk.
Car: Vitz
Model: 2006
Import:2009
I have been reading CVT discussion lately.
I am posting this as I need an opinion.
Today, I got my Vitz axle kit changed. Mechanic drained some transmission oil and later filled it.
Mechanic told me that they is some seapage from seal of gear box (underneath car) and need replacement.
After completing the axle activity and refilling the oil (that he drained) he checked the CVT oil ( by temporary dipstick into oil filling bolt) and told me that it is missing half a liter and need fill.
I asked how will he rectify the seal seapage, he said that it needs gearbox opening and this activity will take 4-5 hrs and around 4-5 thousand cost.
I refused to do it with local mechanic and considering to go to Toyota 3s.
I read in threads that CVT oil is for life time and does not need replacement. Furthermore there is no gauge in it.
I need professional opinion as should I go with the gearbox opening or not.
I am planning to visit Toyota 3s and see what does it says about seal seapage.
Need Help.
