I've been banging my head for quite a long while now to resolve idle RPM and related issues with my Civic 99 equipped with a D15B 3-Stage and the stock A/T...
Just recently saw a couple of pics (like the one below) which show an EGR valve (if this is an EGR at all) behind the vtec solenoids... So I was wondering, given this is supposed to be a JDM engine from an EK, is it not supposed to have an EGR? And would not having an EGR somehow affect the idle RPM?
Also, one of the problems is that in gear the car idles way down and starts to stall.. if i unhook the vacuum hose to the EGR valve, it doesnt stall anymore but the idle goes up to 1500+ If i put my finger over the vacuum line i can still feel suction.. i put the vacuum line back on and the RPM drops back down to 500 or less.
Anyone know whats going on here..bad EGR valve..bad control valve solenoid?
P.S. I've done the usual stuff (throttle body cleaning, TPS calibration etc)
