yar dont go for these small motors if you are in greed of power,d17 aint a worth swap for ef as d17 dosent makes sense in an ef,its meant for es basically,all alterations you do wont fetch alot as compared to time,money spent swapping d17 in ef,yes if somone has es sedan,must go for a d17a swap,its power+economy.you dont have complete setup for d17 as i only swapped assembly coz i used rest of the stuff from my previous motor.d17a is bolton at es in short.
yes if you want power for ef,get b20,b20 vtec,b16,f20b etc.
b20 costs around 70-80k,b20vtec around 110k i guess,b16 around 170k (if you get one).f20b is around 115k.
and if you are in too much love with d17a,complete setup wont cost you less than 105k discluding swap cost and alterations,mounts etc.
