D17A Vtec auto ecu in manual car help required

Dear Pakwheelers, i have Civic 95 with stock engine, two days ago changed the engine and mechanic installed D17A, although i was more interested in D15B but the mechanic told me its much better with new technology and claiming the better milage which i realy doubt. Yesterday i received the car, the problem are
1) little bit jurks in slow speed
2)when i revolve the engine the rpm while coming back stays at 1.5 and after sometime come to 1 and stable at 1.
3) The milege is around 7km/ltr
Today i checked the Ecu its of D17A automatic i.e 37820-PSA-J83.
The engine seems good but i think the problem may be due to ecu. The mechanic gave the guarrenty if i face any problem he will change that thing including engine. I want to know the real cause of problem

Who say's d17 give good mileage. D16 is better. Ecu will work. Check the errors of ecu. I'm sure check light is not connected get it done and then check the errors.

Hassan Rao bro you are absolutely rite regarding mileage, the ecu is working but should i tell the mechanic to change the ecu to manual one of d16 available in the market or the one installed in it is better if all the errors are removed.

The ecu installed is better then d16's ecu.
But if you can find d17a manual ecu that would be best. Try finding it. Then removing errors would be easy for you.

I also have purhased a 1995 civic manual and decided to put a bigger engine in the car just to get more power. But at the same time was concerned about mileage. I swapped the original carbuerator based D15B non-vtec with a EFI D17A VTEC. The car has phenomenal power, has great low end torque to get around town without any hassle. However the mileage I am getting is a bit off as people around me who have done the same thing with their cars i.e swapping the engine were telling me that i am still getting bad fuel consumption. Right now I am averaging around 12-13km/l on a whole tank. Which is least to say good enough for me afterall you are driving a 1700cc car. And i discovered that the engine was using an Automatic gear box ecu instead of a manual one. Kindly guide me through it as how to eliminate this problem as well.

I'm restoring my 2005 Civic vti oriel ug and having swapped in a d17a with auto ecu to work with my original manual 5sp that came with the car and its d16w9 engine, I desperately need the manual d17a ecu, somehow. I need the 140hp this unit is capable of, but without losing my manual transmission

I'm sure you can find manual ecu if you look around.

Not much luck thus far. Going to run it on an auto ECU until I do. That combo also works, though it won't be ideal. The ECU needed is 37820-PLR-J03. Help!
