Sir, actually facing problem of fresh air coming in from vent cons and u can also feel air thrust at ur feet.I was going thru the old threads and had read some thing sort of closing or plugging some points in engine compartment.I had tried alot but could not find any.Secondly gear shifting in winters become hard especially when veh is cool.Is this normal or needs checking.

In fact the vent control should be able to close the fresh air chamber, but it has been commonly observed in majority of Daewoo Racers that the vacuum actuator controlling the vent flap are out of order/leaked. The exact location of the fresh air chamber is just above the blower motor.

Usually the gear lever is little harder on a cold engine. If it is too hard, take your car to mechanic to check the quantity and quality of gear oil and replace/top-up if necessary.

I need to convert my daewoo from manual 4 speed transmission to Automatic transmission.

Yes you can convert to the automatic gear, but it is a 3-speed one. It means that the fuel consumption will be a lot on the higher side.

1. Yes it is possible, but you have to get hold of TCM (Transmission Control Module) along with necessary wiring, an expert mechanic and an expert electrician.

2. The first thing to ensure is the availability of the gearbox itself. For that you have to refer to the contacts page, link is mentioned in the top post.

3. I suggest you should contact Central Automobile, as they have converted one.

4. I haven't used it myself, but met a fellow who has half cut Cielo, and the wiring was complete. He told me that the gearbox is responsive but the gear changing RPMs are on higher side due to the fact that it has 3 forward gears. Fuel consumption is an issue while CNG is another issue.

1. I have heard about water dropping from engine in morning, is this story true. My car drops water after one minute. is it OK.(although before overhauling engine was also dropping water but Tahir sb said it is not in good condition)

2. During drive after gear change RMP meters shows 2.5K, and on neutral it is 1.2-1.4, is it OK.

1. One interesting fact about CNG is that one never get rich fuel so there are always water dropping from silencer in the morning. What Tahir said about condition after physically examining the engine will be more accurate. Ask him to perform a compression test so that you can be sure about the engine condition before opening it.

2. On idle it should be 850-900.

3. If the alloy rim is properly setup according to the center hole of hub, they are as good as steel rim.

4. Don't go for raising the height of your car. It is not good for your car in any way be it stability or braking.

Here are the details of what was done and the cost:

Tahir @ G-8, before replacing the crank wanted to check its exact condition and then decide. So when he opened the engine and on his examination he said that there is very little play. We should not replace it rather get it repaired. He said it will work fine and should not give me problem for couple of years. So I decided to go for the repair option. However he thought that the oil pump was not working well and we need to replace it, so that was replaced.

The first impression was very good. Engine was soundless. However yesterday I noticed few drops of oil under the car. So today I again went to Tahir and he told me that there is no fresh oil leaking but the old oil traces which are falling down. So I got the car engine washed from below. Will be keeping an eye for more drops in next couple of days.

Overall I am so far satisfied with the work done, and how Tahir treats his customers.

The details of the costs are:

Oil Pump: 3500
Oil and Filter: 1700
Khardia: 2500
Labour: 3000
Other parts e.g. (Jain Kit etc): 1450

We didnt get the Pistons out so did not need to replace the rings.

Please refer to the following picture. The actuator is visible (part labelled 1 in the picture) as well as the fresh air flap (part labelled 3 in the picture). The actuator is vacuum operated, when it's diaphragm leaks, it no more control the flap, but the vacuum pressure is leaked. People just fix the flap at closed position but putting small stick or long screw and then glue a thin foam layer over it to prevent any air coming to the cabin from any tiny hole in the flap.

I have taken a snap of STAP56 installed in my car. You can show it as a reference to the dealers to get the exact same/newer model matching device.

Dear Testdvr and DFC mates,today I've finished reading 236 pages of DFC threads.An experience un matched and so educating.Well I've got a humble suggestion for the stakeholders of the forum:

1. The amount of practical knowledge,wide range of problems with solutions,tech details etc contained in the threads if edited,chronologically arranged by experts can produce an immaculate document for woo owners.

2. I think a discussion can be generated if permitted by "Testdvr".

3. More over wide range of suggestions regarding the modalities may produce a wonderful booklet, not heard of before/available for any kind of car being used in our country.

Yes, it can be, in fact I installed it in the TBi engine .
If you are regularly using it on dual fuel, then do install the advancer, otherwise not.

Pull the flap to the top and get two supports installed as mentioned in the picture below, and glue 0.5 cm thick foam to the gaps around the flap.

VSS of my car is broken. new and kabli, both are avilable in the market. which one shold be opted for good performance? I have learnt that signal codes of new VSS are more compatible with the new daewoo computers/ecm and some times it mismatch with the daewoo racer computer? is it the case? pl guide.
