1. How to check coolant Temp Sensor w/o actually letting the temp rise above half mark and waiting to see if it functions.

2. Where is the normal position of the temp needle on scale of Daewoo Racer if we install thermostat valve and automatic fan both. (I have observed many GM cars/ chevrolet Kadetts during my stay in Brazil where the temp never use to cross 1/3 of the scale). Pl answer in the context that you in one of your earlier posts said that the reading displayed maynot be right due to some resistance issue. My observation is that the car is acceptably hot while the temp display on needle is quite low.

3. To the best of my info new Thermostat valves are not available in market as it is not a running item, can we trust the old ones which physically seem ok.

(Purpose to ask these question is to get rid of this temp issue like a new car, is it so complicated/unresolvable/not understandable by Daewoo mechanics?).Letting the fan direct like 95% of the Daewoo Racers I have observed doesn't seem a good solution though......

1. The best thing to check the sensor is obviously using the scanner. If the temperature reading goes above 97 degree centigrade and the fan does not start, the coolant sensor is faulty provided the fan has no physical problem. (The fan should start when set to direct mode). Another method, which is quite risky, is that remove the cap from the radiator bottle and throttle the engine until you see the water level rising up. The fan should start around 1 minute after this state. At maximum wait for 2 minutes for the fan to start. If it does not start, stop the engine after running the fan on direct mode for at-least one minute so that the engine cools down. Removing the bottle cap ensure avoiding build up of pressure in case the sensor is faulty.

2. If 47 Ohm resistance is placed in series to the temperature gauge signal wire (NOT the temperature sensor wire), the temperature should be just below the middle mark (~92 degree C). The fan should start when the needle slightly rise from the middle mark (~96 degree C).

3. I think new thermostat valve is available in the market, you can check from the parts dealers. Old one is also not reliable unless properly checked by putting it in boiling water.

Newspaper and Toilet paper is the best remedy in this situation.

But i have tried this but not better result. Someone has told me about wind screen spray. Should i use? if yes then what brand if you know.

Trust you all are having a good day, i am new to this forum so kindly pardon me if i mess up with anything ( i am not aware how the screenplay operates).

I have very recently bought a daewoo racer '93 which is also my first ever car. as being a newbie i know very little about the technicalities but reading this forum has helped me alot.

Recently i got me wirring redone from karim baloch near holy family hospital, the work was nice but he says that generator is short and needs to be replaced. Secondly my car has started missing badly on cng and petrol, at first it started missing on cng and was ok on petrol but now its missing on petrol as well. Apart from that it gives heavy blue smoke on acclereation ( will changing the piston and rings alone be sufficent)? at times it takes 4 ppl to push the car feels as if the wheels are jam.

I am sorry for writting this big a story but being a novice i am v upset!

The symptoms shows you have crossed head gasket. Get compression test done to verify.

Glad to find answer from you sir, now i completed two years proudful ownership of my WOOO in metalic gold khi no registered.

This is my own first vehicle but got driving skills on my brother,s khyber ten years ago. These days i,m reading all your previos posts in this informative happy club (DFC). my daewoo remains 20 days static in sara month bcox i,m performing job out of my home city(Faisalabad). interested to get auto transmission easy to drive other than me ...

Last month while traveling to Lahore airport i lost my woo driving side mirror with Gadha garri tail could not find geniune in faisalabad, which type is suitable ?

Jus to add i can see oil in water bootle as well. Crossed head gsket mean i need to change my gaskit?

Last year i found starting problem in my woo , first battery changed with new,then work done with ;;SULF> at LAST
self replaced with Qabli one problem solved old self givn in exchange total KHARCHA 1200/rs.

in my two years experince brakes is only issue rest all daewoo is not less than :(H):LUXURY::P: (Kum kherch Balla nasheen)

yes it was heavy snow fall at that time. My Daewoo did well all the way with three friends and enjoyed alot.

i recently changed the petrol gauge present in the petrol tank as the petrol gauge of dashboard wasnt moving evening when the tank was half full....i got the tank cleaned in the process aswell
after replacement with new gauge i filled 1000 rs petrol n gauge moved a bit up still below the red line....
yesterday i again filled the tank with 1000rs petrol but the gauge didnt go up the red line..
also when the tank petrol station guy tried to fill the tank the petrol started to back fire(meaning started coming back) so that guy had to adjust the petrol pump hook a bit out to keep the petrol going..
what could be the reason for this back firing of petrol as if the tank was full when it was empty adn this happend before as well when i had got the tank cleaned and put the petrol the ist time after that...
why is there presure inside the tank....causing the petrol to go back? and its not affecting the car run on petrol(thx GOD). but still wana know the reason...

I had the same issue with my Daewoo when i purchased, Please get installed Petrol Tank Vaccume pipe or get it checked if it is blocked. It will cost you around Rs. 150

For fuel gauge, usually it gives very low effect for initiall 10-15 litters. You may try for another fuel refill otherwise recheck to install another fuel guage. It may be faulty.
