i have some problem in my daewoo from last two weeks.
I am using Daewoo from last 6 years. Some month ago I overhauled the engine from Daewoo point Islamabad but after the almost 10,000km running suddenly cam was broken at 95km/h speed.
I go to my mechanic Daewoo point he change the cam shaft (KABLI) but after the 200km running one day I start my car in morning and after 2 mint cam was broken again. I call the mechanic he advice to change whole head with cam.
Dear testdriver please guide me and also tell me what problem will occurs in my Daewoo Head. Can my Daewoo head is not repairable?

the same thing happened with me n i also changed the cam twice with head as well... mr athar from central autos told me wenever the cam gets broken always change the head aswell.....
i dnt know how much money u spent so far but i would say why nt change ur engine....instead of spending so much money on these things again n again...

@ shahjee....which electrician u go to in lahore.i wana get the heat gauge checked up for sure and also install the resistance of 47ohm as well as i still believe the car is not showing the right temperature....got the heat gauge serviced...rust was removed...three electrician checked the wire...and two said it ok when they earthed the wire the needle went all up so they said it was all ok but one said i gotta change the heat gauge...so im not sure who is right n who is wrong...got the radiator changed as well.. direct fan and condensor fan relays all there...car is not heating up but on A.C the needle doesnt go above middle mark of white area but pick gets dead at that temp with A.C on...
can u also tell me whats the actual mark of heat needle ...tried to search the forum where test driver mentioned it but could not find it....

some month ago i complete overhauled engine and spent Rs:40k and after cam broken i again spent 12k.
The engine is 100% perfect condition except cam problem.
if i change the Head is the problem resolve?

man i also overhauled my ride and all the problems started after that..just with in a month the valves gave up and soon after that the cam was broken and after that there been series of problem and i ve spent almost 60000 rupees on this thing or maybe more...and now when i think of it all i guess i should ve gone for engine swap even when my mechanic advised against it at that time...they all just wana rip u off one way or the other...my engine is perfect 100% as well no oil reducing....but the head has been changed 4 times and cam three times and once even the pistons and ring got changed...and now im just waiting for this summer to be over.. by then hopefully i would ve enuff saved to change the engine...not going to go for any new head or camshaft no matter what.....do consult with TESTDRIVER....and please be careful when u change the head and camshaft....try to buy it ur self and never rely on ur mechanic at all....

Can u tell me the estimated price of KABLI Head with Cam.
In this time i will change the Head myself bcz i have all tools and experiences of machnical works.
i am waiting the advice of TESTDRIVER but i thing he busy so can,t online.

thats great that u can change it urself coz thats where mechanics mess with u.....
in march i got the head changed at central autos as it was severely damaged with kabli one...mr athar sold it for rupees 10,000 including mine damaged one....the cam was bought for rupees 7000 in lahore...but there r diferent price ranges for that as well. dnt know its price in isb....

Dear Brother same thing was happened with me at the motorway. I towed my daewoo to Mr. A. Kareem I-10. He checked the head and got repaired from the kharadia. and replace the cam shaft. everytime when cmashaft is broken head must be checked for its alignment. camshaft is broken when the head is de-shaped.

Dear camshaft breaks when the head deshaped. head can be de-faced by kharadia. i also faced same problem I got de-faced the head from kharadia and replace the cam. now the woo is ok. The expenditures were as follows:-

(a) cam shaft @ Rs 3000
(b) Kharadia @ Rs 1400
(c) Labor+consumables @ 1880
(d) headgasket @ 425
(e) silicon @ 150

Asalam O Alikum, hope you are all doing well..

I have a daewoo cielo for the last 1 year and a half and it has a strange problem since the last month or so..

At the start (before i had this problem) the car would easily start on CNG, even in winters. Nd i never had to start the car on petrol.. But since the last month, my car doesn't start on CNG in the morning (or even evening if it's been off for more than 3,4 hours). I have to start it on petrol and then convert to CNG, after that it easily starts on CNG..

I had some problem with the Car's RPM nd had to change the IAC valve around a month ago.. nd i think this problem started after i got my RPM fixed..

I hope any of you will be able to guide me as to what the problem is.. I will be really grateful..

I just want to confirm whether this workshop deals in mechanical works only or have a good denter painter and electrician as well. I have some electrician related issues so suggest the good electrician. Secondly have you visited moon bahi near stadium road as i have heard good about him regarding quality of work and prices.Which one is recommended.? moon bahi, faqeer hussain g-10 or wajid airport chowk.?

ur lucky mian ji...wish we guys here at lhr had some good workshop too with honest poeple n which include mechanic to electrician all under the same roof....
its hard enuff to find a good mechanic here in lhr who doesnt wana just rip u off let alone electricians who rvery rare here and really know daewoo circuit...
