Anyone of you have ever noticed that there is a small valve in the radiator bottle cap that evacuates excessive pressure from the engine water lines. The water is exiting from the cap as a invisible steam (you can notice a very low hissing sound while the engine is hot and engine is shut off by getting your ear closer to the radiator bottle cap). If the valve become faulty, it either blocks the pressure within the water lines or it allow water to escape through it (it is in such a small amount that the water evaporates just after leaving the cap and you can notice rusty particles around the cap). Better replace the cap if it is faulty.
Missing on CNG might be due to mixing of petrol with CNG or the mixture settings on CNG. Another thing can be improper plug gaps, remember petrol is more volatile than CNG and a weaker spark (bigger gap) will not be much noticeable while on petrol!

u r right.....i think the radiator cap is the culprit coz there is a valve in it which is stuck at one position...and may be thats the reason when the pressure buils up inside it doesnt escapes and some times i noticed the cap couldnt be opened even if it wasnt tightly closed...i will change it...along with IAC valve...coz the car rpm is getting high again and its esp giving me problem when the car attains its specific temp when A.C is on.....

Thanks, i have checked the above link but atually its giving detailed reasons of gear sounds.

I replaced the gear with the kabli one but still sound is there, although it is reduced by 70% approx. New caltex gear oil of 90No was poured in the gear, and subsequently after observing the gear sound, a bottle of SPT oil was also poured in teh gear to enhance the thickness of the gear oil.

Kabli dealer is agreed to replace the gear again and i may go again this week for the job.

Liqui moly has some gear oil additive of RS 500 (name i dont remember), which as they say, will eliminate the gear sound. WHat do you say, should i go for teh same ORRR any other idea.

I think there is no harm in giving it a try (Liqui Moly additive), if it resolves the issue. Although the kabli dealer is ready to change the unit for you, but still you will pay labor to your mechanic.

There might be some water leakage. How much you paid for Kabli radiator and hows its condition. i have also the same issued, ride heatup with AC, otherwise its ok.

i bought it for rupees 4000 from korea autos here in lhr n the radiator condition is very good.....

@test driver...the missing on CNG? could it be due to improper setting of cam in its shaft? plugs were changed when the head was changed by mr athar and i dont know if he adjusted the gap or not..he just said that the cam was very old....and that with time this missing will go away....but it hasnt...

No, if there would have been any problem with the valve timing, it should also have created problem on petrol.

i was reading the post number 2871 by TESTDRIVEr where he said as quoted." IAC valve itself rarely creates problem if the shaft is sticky, otherwise the IAC valve misbehaves as a result of some other sensor problem."
now the problem im facing is that some times when i start the car the rpm goes up high and then in few seconds drops and some times this doesnt happen at all...but as i drive the car for some time the rpm remains ok but then it starts rising up and even when i decelerate and change the gear to 3rd or 2nd the rpm remains high and when i again go to 3rd gear from 2nd or 4th from 3rd the car jerks..meaning the rpm doesnt go down when i press clutch....and its happening both on CNG and Petrol...i thot it was VSS issue but i ve checked multiple times manually for error codes and there r none and even CEL doesnt appear and even i ve sprayed wd40 on IAC but result is the same....so i ve come to conclusion that the IAC valve needs changing coz this is affecting A.C performance in a way that when car attains optimum temp for A.C whenever i press clutch as the rpm doesnt shift with it the car vibrates and somtimes stalls...
so any body has any take on it....im thinking to change the Valve coz this valve was taken from some other car and the mechanic put it in mine so i dnt know for how long it was used..may be its time to get a new one which is not used at all....

I bought 5 forward that expired within 1.5 years.
Recently i bought another one @ 10k through Mr. Tahir, G-8.
Gearbox is noiseless. Engagement is almost ok when cold(4th is comparatively bit harder). However, after a run of ~30kms plus shifting at 3rd and especially 4th (while coming down from 5th) becomes more hard than it was in the cold state . 3 litre Zic gear oil 75w/85 was poured. Tahir adjusted twice but still as it was.
Should i replace the gearbox? as its still in warranty.
Also its different from the previous one in terms of gear ratios. Car attains 3k rpm as;
1st--29 km/h
2nd--49 km/h
3rd--~79 km/h
4th--103 km/h
5th--130 km/h

@guybwp having same issue with one of my relatives cars we will diagnose it shortly as we both are busy, Issue is directly related to IAC valve but if issue still persists and this does not resolve issue then try to tighten the micro connectors of the sensor connectors. Also replace the VSS valve with an alternate(ok unit) and drive vehicle. Some elctronic faults arise due to change in capacitor value of the sensor circuit thus it is working but not providing 100% data
MOST IMPORTANT WHICH ENGINE ARE YOU USING STOCK TBI one, STOCK ENGINE WITH MULTIPOINT INJECTIONS SYSTEM OR DOHC one

@seismic check the connector rods of the gear box, slight force during installation can bend them and can cause hinderence in normal operation. Secondly there are small washels installed along joint of coonector rods, if they waer then play in gear shaft increases and there is hinderence to shifting of gears. Also check your clutch adjustment. If the problem after rectifying these issue is still present then problem is present inside the gear box (get it replaced)

actually last week i charged my ac with gas the cooling was so good that i cant describe it in words but while running back from commercial market i heard a sound from the compressor (tik tik tik) lound sufficient to be heard at 100 km/hr.....then suddenly smoke come inside the car "aur mery A/C ko meri hi nazar lag gayee"

I am kinda new one in this professional daewoo club but i had been reading these a lot and hats off to all the great men here
I need a little different advice. i need one car to be used as second car. expected to have sparing use, very less in city and may be during holidays with kids more on highways going from karachi to Punjab or inter city in punjab.
The options i have are daewoo regd 2001 officer scheme just 65,000 KM done original all options except AC working, Non EFI CNG KIT, both petrol and CNG working
Sunny 98FE 2.0D done 150,000 Km, Mileage in city 14 Km approx per litre
I am stuck in making the choice,in terms of economy, botheration one faces due shortage of CNG especially in PUNJAB, absence of reliable maintenance facilities in most of the cities (as people tell me) especially for daewoo
I would be much thankful for kind advice

Daewoo's genuine compressor (Kabli) is available @ 4000 to 4500 here in Rawalpindi. No guarantee is provided but usually last for one complete season. if last long, its ur luck :). Mechanics change the compressor seals prior to install them in vehicle to avoid the chance of gas leakage.
Another option (if u want to retain car for a longer period) is to change the compressor and go for new Sandan. will cost more as some alteration is required, but gives u an excellent service for long time.

When considering a diesel car, do consider one thing that if daewoo is properly tuned on petrol, it gives u very good milage (I myself get almost 14 km/lit), so u may keep it tuned only on petrol (to avoid CNG loadsheding bothration). Another plus point is cheap maintenance of Daewoo engine as compare to diesel engine.
On the other hand diesel engine has its own 'Nasha'. I myself really love it (owned 2004 diesel corolla till diesel was in economy range) but don't have courage to have anothernone just becouase of the high repair cost and poor resale.
On realistic grounds, I'd recommend to avoid diesel car. rest the decision is urs

today the mechanic again serviced tps sensor along with IAC valve and throttle body...and he also increased the RPM.after dat the car did vibrate on idle once but not after that.....still gotta test it on cng though.....strangely when told the mechanic abt missing on CNg he just raiseda bit speed to show that its becoz of low rpms that car was missing and the missing did go away.....but my question is WILL RAISING THE RPM OF CAR ON PETROL WILL ALSO INCREASE ITS FUEL CONSUMPTION?....AND SHOULD I CHANGE THE IAC VALVE?....

Dear doctors of Woo i am facing a problem regarding daewoo's engine. 2 and half weeks ago i went to Gujranwala and one seal of engine leaked there somehow i managed to recover that problem and same day i also changed my woo engine oil but after that when i came back and day before yesterday i checked my woo's engine oil level i was surprised because it was below the required. I again checked but there was no leakage. I think the engine is consuming some oil and it means that engine is a bit weak. But let me tell u that there is no carbon or anything in silencer. Brothers please tell me should i overhaul the engine if not then what should i do?

for last few days there was much discussion regrading missing problems. I also had same problem in my daewoo. I went to mr. Tahir @ g-8 islamabad. He did the following jobs:-

(a) adjust the mixture of cng and air.
(b) air filter was found much dirty. Replaced the same with newone.
(c) timing belt found loose. Tight the same.

After all these steps car is now in perfect condition.
